I guess you and Howlin are right, it just doesn't seem like LE is getting anywhere....

The demand for several million dollars was apparently in the same letter in which he threatened the children. Who knows whether he really wants the money? He may just be toying with us. Cat and mouse game.

Thanx for the update T.K. It just keeps going. Round and round we go, where it's going to stop, nobody knows. - God knows.
Sooner or later some body has to see something and give LE a break in this case. (God knows they need one). There are just too many eyes to not see anything indefinitely. He or them are going to make a mistake, even a small one, but enough to hone in on this creep(s).

I just heard (msnbc) the shooters are asking for MILLIONS of dollars. Interesting that dollar amount, Ringy....
I am having a difficult time believing that the sniper will strike 11 times before trying to black mail them with millions of dollars...it just doesn't add up to me.

Oh, I know you don't care what anybody thinks; that's why you post the same thing on virtually every single thread on this forum. Got agenda? LOL, if and when you ever learn to think independently of the political agenda of the politicians you worship I might take you seriously.

Aaaaah, thank you so much. I'm relieved to hear all that, it makes me feel much better. No doubt a group such as the article implies would have stuck out like a sore thumb in a small southern town. When the piece first aired I had the impression the "camp" was way out in the boonies somewhere, isolated, and that by the time it had been "discovered" the owners or leaders were long gone and the camp abandoned. Thanks for clearing it up for me. :)

Wish I could get rid of the concept that the gun is being passed around.Interesting comment. This is totally hearsay, but my husband related it to me over lunch today. He said a young couple came into the shop yesterday for an engagement picture. In the conversation the sniper came up. The young man related that he is in the service (Army?) and is a sniper. He said they work in groups of five and they never know who will be the shooter. They put five pieces of paper in a hat and draw them out. Four of them are blank and the fifth has the word "God" on it, and that one is the shooter. The others act as scouts and support-egress. I have no way of knowing how true this is but it sure does sound much like our sniper team in D.C. area. I have always believed there is more than one. I wonder if the French Military school uses the same method. Anybody know?

I, for one, feel quite comfortable with the idea of young mothers, their babies, the elderly, etc. staying in their homes, while the able-bodies youts and men go forth to deal with terrrorists, do the marketing, man the gas stations, etc...
But, that is just me, and I think all should take Miss Marple's advice and be prepared. We also should check with our neighbors and froends, maybe via our churches, and offer to help those who are not properly able to leave their homes, should that time ever come!

Welcome back and I totally agree.

Maybe it's a phone call Moose makes to someoneCould be, but I think it will be another press conference. That's the way they've been communicating. I think he was just giving the media a headsup on that as well as letting the terrorists know that the government is considering how to respond.
BTW, I want to point out that this guy didn't say "your children aren't safe at school". He said they're not safe anywhere, anytime. Hopefully, he was just talking about gunshots. But this implies we may see some home invasions pretty soon or even machine gun attacks in public places.

Hey get off his case, OK. Stick you head back in, bythebye.
To: yukong
I think it was the shooter that wanted it read!
To: hispanarepublicana
It's the french lietenant(St. Cyr) guy. DH and I (in Richmond) are sure of it.
The contents of the letter, the resemblance of an unofficial composite, his background, his grudge against the US, his being the right age to go off his bubble, the fact that his last known transaction in the US was a large withdrawal of cash...
It's him.
I want his NAME. I want his PICTURE. NOW.
On Sunday, while I was getting donuts, this fellow was on the same street within a few blocks of me, making his infamous phone call. If I'd had that picture, if we had had that picture, he might have been spotted...

You have any ideas? BLOAT!

I'll be going to the polls. Just for the first time, leave my kids at home.

And you;d be ten times more likely to die in a car wreck
on the way to VA than you would standing around once you got there.
To: mewzilla
Something else at work.
Yes. If he has ties to ME, he'll be filthy rich for the rest of his life and won't need one dime from us.
Not only that, the sniper is certainly aware that could extract far more than a paltry several million from us if money is really want he wanted.
This is a ruse.
To: Letitring
No, he only read the postscript. "Your children are not safe any place at any time."
