RICHMOND, Va. — Police searching for the Beltway Sniper surrounded a white van and a phone booth adjoining a gas station in Hanover County, Va., Monday morning.

Fox News has learned that one man had been taken into custody.

Police told reporters that the van had been stopped along Broad St, a major commercial street.

"It was specific enough to be a suspect vehicle in all the cases," said Lt. Doug Goodman of the Hanover County Sheriff's Department.

The development happened less than two days after authorities issued a plea to the person who left a note at the scene of a weekend shooting outside a Ponderosa restaurant in Ashland, Va., in Hanover County a few miles north of Richmond.

A hastily-arranged news conference was to be held at 10 a.m. EDT.

they said he had black and gray hair, late 30's early 40's and dark skinned (maybe hispanic) !!! ME!

On almost all of these types of cases the witness accounts regarding the vehicles will either be a slam dunk or almost useless as far as exactly identifying the vehicle by year/make/model. The witnesses, even under hypnosis, will either know what they are looking at or not.

Most people simply don't know a Ford from a Chevy from a Dodge for a Chrysler. Unfortunately, at least "half" the country is stupid. And I can prove it, half vote for rats.

Somebody on CNN just said temporary tags with no state inspection or local tax sticker, so the van is driving illegally in Virginia.

WTOP radio reported a few minutes ago that the driver of the van appeard to be intoxicated!! That doesn't make much sense to me. Also would probably rule out a Muslim.
