"They not only closed some colleges but a spokesperson said it was on advice of LEO's."Where did you get that information from? Not doubting you just curious about the source.

Well, it's pretty obvious that a threat has been made on our schools and don't forget, Australia just had a hit on one of their schools and I believe it was a college.
Regardless, I think the cops now know the motive and that is a very big clue.

"and don't forget, Australia just had a hit on one of their schools and I believe it was a college."Yes it was a college, and I saw that posted here but have not been able to find it on the AP wire.

I don't even WANT to imagine the chaos that would occur here in VA Beach if it came down this way and they decided to close schools, what with all the military folk hereWhich is why I don't think we'll see the sniper yet. They have bigger plans for us and they don't want to jeapordize those by puting us more on guard and risking a sweep of the cells here. We're more likely to get the bombs and WMDs, I think.

This Serial Psycho apparently loves taunting cops. He alot like other serial killers in that way. I am now leaning back towards my original gut feeling that this is some home grown psychopath who is enjoying himself immensely.

I didn't hear Chief Moose's comments, but Freepers reported that the sniper required him to personllay report on the news that the sniper was very impressed by the Ashford police work, saying that he "barely got away," implicitly criticizing the Montgomery County force and Moose himself. I thought that the purpose of this was simply to humiliate Moose and to drive home a point.

What amazes me *considerably* is that LE has not released more information to the public. If additional tarot cards were left at the crime scenes AND contained German handwriting, one would think that information could prompt additional leads from the public. I understand the desire to retain information so that a spree of copycat-killers doesn't crop up - but surely there's a way to balance that with the increased probability of catching the killer(s)

Yes, and it seemed like such a bold, foolish lie. Surely people who have been to prison have heard of surveillance cameras and knew his "witness statement" wouldn't stand up. He'll be watched for a long time and his phone records have probably been probed days ago, etc.

i graduated HS from falls church, about 2mi from the corners.
i know from the rashness of youthful experience that it was occasionally possible to get from jaguar drive to the belt in ~44sec, assuming the carbs were tuned ...

"Regardless, I think the cops now know the motive and that is a very big clue."Well I hope they do not have information that schools have been targeted, but if they do that would be right out of the Al-Qaeda play book.
Keep in mind that, if this is foreign terrorism that we have here, that we are dealing with the barbarians. Unfortunately instead of them having encircled us, I am afraid that they have infested us.

Question for you - I'd been leaning toward terrorism for days, but just don't see AQ taunting the police and media. I've read all the theories posted here and they are good. When the media/LEO's have said he doesn't hit on weekends, he does. When the media/LEO's say schools are safe, he hits a kid. You get the point. I don't see that kind of taunting coming from AQ. What's your take on AQ taunting in the manner we've seen?

Well, at first the superintendent of the schools was on TV, making a HUGE deal out of not closing.
Then he announced they would close. Maybe the parents complained that he "dared" the shooter by doing that?
Maybe there IS something in that note?
