Heh. Pointing out that Herr Hitler was a non-smoking vegetarian homosexual socialist -- well, that's just not Politically Correct, I don't think!

Very scary reading, this thread, to think of what might happen under the correct (or incorrect) circumstances. For what it's worth, there's another thread running now that might be of interest to you also. I'll post the link of this thread there also.

"The political spectrum is really a circle; extremists on both ends blur together."
I'd have to disagree with you, it's not a circle, it's a straight line, with no government (anarchy) at one end, and total government (communism, naziism, whatever you'd like to call it) on the other end. The totalitarian extremists "on both ends" are really on the same end.

Oops, didn't see your post before I sent that last - as usual, someone says it better than I can, before I can -

Nazi's and communists were experts on propaganda. The Dems are experts on propaganda. Calling a Republicans a Nazi is propaganda.
Connect the dots.

Great post. I have lived in Germany for nearly two years. I constantly see the similarities between the SDP and their Nazi cousins. Both just love centralized governmental authority and hate to question it.

The political spectrum is really a circle; extremists on both ends blur together. Only to the degree that they advocate authoritarian government to force their views on the people.

Karl Marx said, "The meaning of peace is the absence of the opposition to marxism."Interesting. Muslims have the same definition of "peace". To them it refers to the unchallenged rule of Islam. What a coincidence.

I think Richard Pipes devoted a chapter in "Russia Under the Bolshevik Regime" to fascisms origins in socialism. The only element of fascism that it shares with the right is nationalism.
Another Richard Pipes book that I highly recommend to all is "Property and Freedom." Pipes demolishes the myth about American Indians and other less developed societies not recognizing property rights. He also looks into the sense of property in animals.

The official title of the Nazi Party was "The National
Socialist Workers Party of Germany".
Whenever you are called a nazi just point this out to the speaker.

Hitler was a strict vegetarian, despised Christianity, was a believer in the occult (or what today would be called "New Age Religion"), and seemed to have a deep love for "nature" (his chosen home at Berchtesgaden is set atop a mountain surrounded by fabulous Alpine scenery). Except for the vegetarian part, Al Gore is practically Hitler's clone.
Come to think of it, maybe Al's weird accent is a left-over from his childhood in Brazil.

That is the way it is in most Dictatorships on this planet! Cuba, Iraq, N. Korea, the old USSR, most of the Arab countries, lots of African countries, lots of Asian.....

Just like the Clinton liberals here. They must be defeated !
