SIOUX FALLS, South Dakota (AP) -- The federal government is considering whether to extradite to Croatia a Serbian refugee who had been living in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and had been convicted in absentia of war crimes.

Mitar Arambasic was arrested last month when he tried to renew a work permit and a check with international authorities, prompted by increased security after last year's terrorist attacks, showed a Croatian arrest warrant.

The lawyer said his client didn't disclose the 1997 conviction to U.S. officials because he did not know about it.

Ah, these secret convictions. Don't you love it? International justice is great!

The ARE a fairly large number of Serb refugees living in Sioux Falls.

I'll see what I can find out.

I am not sure if you are familiar with the Biljana Plavsic case.

Here she was president of Republika Srpska after the war and at that time the "secret" conviction was not annouced for "SOME" (cooperating) reason then she gets charged after she was not in some meaningful office (past used by date).

Secret confictions are used to force cooperation with the international (di)stabalization forces.

Violations of immigrant law? In South Dakota? I'm sure he's a registered Democrat also. That voting probe needs to be expanded.

One of Fikret Abdic's Muslims, who fought along side the Christian Serbs more than likely

Sounds right to me. And the "Abdic People" all poured out of Velika Kladusa (northern tip of Bihac) into Sector North in Croatia during Op Storm. Still, I'm a bit confused.

Mitar is also Persian origin word/name and Arambasic is a Turkish origin surname. That does not mean he isn't Orthodox, but he may well be one of Abdic's Muslims.

Remember last time I trumped you on the name origin question? I don't even know why it means so much to you if he is or isn't Christian/Muslim. I just said if his name sounds Muslim then he probably was Abdic's pro-Serb Muslims, doesn't really change much in relation to this story. Unless you don't want any mention of the fact that their were Muslims who were on the Serb side during that war?

You mean You don't remember the issue over the name of the Croatian bus killer? When you asked that I provide an example that a Muslim also has that name and I did? Damir, remember?

What is the difference if he is a Serb or a pro-Muslim Serb? They fought on the same side right? So I don't get your point.

Abdic fled to Croatia and was granted exile by Tudjman, his personal friend....and this fact makes your entire viewpoint even more funny. Why would Croatia demand the extradiction of an ally that fought for Abdic? You're too funny when you try to spin?

Is that the same Croatia that found Abdic guilty of war crimes later on? You Croatians have lousy memories!

Your ignorance is showing again, Pericles. Abdic's Muslims were also allied to the Croats you know. After all, Abdic fled to Croatia and was granted exile by Tudjman, his personal friend....and this fact makes your entire viewpoint even more funny. Why would Croatia demand the extradiction of an ally that fought for Abdic? You're too funny when you try to spin?

With Croatian friends like these, who needs enemies??

Croatia sentences ex Bosnia warlord to 20 years
