That you would read "bragging" into my post shows your own knee-jerk biases and bigotry.

Bigotry? LOL.

How many parents call Superintendants at home at 9 o'clock on sunday night?

LOL! Yeah.

Seriously, though, the papers and TV reported earlier on today that the superintendants would be meeting to decide what steps to take for tomorrow. I believe one station even mentioned that the supers were interested in the parents' comments and concerns, etc. So it wouldn't surprise me if bunches of people called today. Though you never know:

[High pitched voice, sounding suspiciously like a 14 year-old]: "Chesterfield County Schools? I'm a parent and I'm terrified to send my son to school tomorrow! I think they should be closed! [giggle, giggle]"

LOL!

Ones inteligence is not always in direct proportion to their writing or speaking abilities.I have always had problems with spelling and grammer but never with reading or understanding content.I guess I have always maintained that if you understood what I said, then the mission was acomplished.

You take a childs life too lightly. That could be a giggle of terror.

Please don't take my guesses and hunches as any more than that. I like to speculate like everyone else here.

My latest nutty theory was that the sniper picks towns with certain letters in their name--lots of s's; i's, a's and l's. Aspen Hill, Silver Spring, Manassas, Massaponax, Falls Church, Ashland.

I'm guessing he's going back to MD. this week. So, I threw out Salisbury.

I know-- it's wild conjecture.

How does he pick his target towns? Does he throw a dart at a map on the wall?

As a homeschooler I would hope that others, including paid teachers, would have the best impression of homeschoolers. If we only had this thread to form an opinion of you, what would it be?

I may not put all my commas in the right places and most likely use way too many run-on sentences but no one else in the world has my kids best interest at heart like their dad and I do. Sometimes we have to learn right along with them just as I am about to have to brush up on my algebra before next year.

I would have to say "in general" my attitude towards government schools is probably the same as other homeschoolers, after all, that is one reason for teaching the kids at home. But...that being said, I can't say that same attitude applies to "all" the paid teachers I know. Many are truly trying to teach and I do believe some cities are worse than others. We all know that educational standards aren't what they were when we were in school

So I hope you two can 'kiss and make up', after all this is cyberspace and you don't really know each other do you?

Now back to the topic at hand....

The media called it a "cryptic" message. That means that there will be a way of communicating that only the Chief and the Sniper can figure out. I guess everybody else got right on the internet to post messages before they aired that part. duh

The news called it a "cryptic" message

The relationship between police and sniper seems cryptic and bizarre.

You have to wonder what are in the other messages, assuming they exist. My fear is that they're threatening to up the stakes (and God only knows what other monsters slouching to Gomorrah) once we invade Iraq.

How does he pick his target towns?

Good question. Seems the towns are in close proximity to I-95. Goes in a north then south direction. Also seems to try to return to a general area. (To keep the police in that area on their toes?) Then moves to a new town, then returns to a previous area, generally, (again to keep LE there on their toes?) Then moves either north or south into a new area... repeat?

I think it was a different thread, freepers said CNN didn't even have decent live coverage last night.

Tonight MSNBC was running Nat. Geographic, but CNN had more tonight from 8-9 than Fox did. I'm staying on FR with the World Series on tv unless something happens.

The odds of hitting an FBI intelligence analyst involved in the sniper investigation have got to be impossibly small. I refuse to believe that is a coincidence.

You're right, that would be an incredible coincidence, if it ever happened. Fortunatly, it has never happened. The FBI analyst that was hit was NOT working on the sniper killings in any way, shape or form. The FBI was careful to make that clear in the news reports describing the woman, Linda Franklin. As I recall, she worked on counter-terrorism, but had not been involved in the sniper investigation.

You take a childs life too lightly. That could be a giggle of terror.

Unfortunately that terror felt by school kids might have nothing to do with the sniper, but rather the thought of another boring day listing to that old windbag go on and on about the Canterbury Tales.
