Beltway Sniper attempted contact last night !

Very short press conference where he simply states that the Beltway Sniper attempted contact and Chief Moose requested that he call them back.

I agree, though I would say that they should be reading the Canterbury Tales in Middle English rather than all of Sir Gawain in it, simply because Chaucer's London dialect is more closely related to modern English than is the Pearl poet's.

Wrong answer public school teacher. They should be reading the Holy Bible in either American Standard English or the New King James version. This way they get to read a great book (the greatest ever written) and learn the truth about where they came from and why they are here.

Since you work in the schools, do you think there might be a specific threat the sniper/s have given, directed toward the schools, the Cops haven't let us know about?

I mentioned that as a possibility in one of my first posts, but I have no way of knowing one way or the other. I'm just a lowly classroom teacher and not a [gasp] administrator.

If there has been a direct threat to the schools then, by all means, close them! But the local news has reported that the decision to close the schools (made by the Superintendants of each district) was in response to a flood of calls from worried parents. Whether this is the truth or not, who knows?

Search my postings here on Wednesday, and you'll find articles describing the kind of work she did. The Washington Times article that day on Linda Franklin had a quote from Gary Bald on the quality of her work. Gary Bald happens to be the head of the FBI's sniper investigation.

I think that it's likely that this problem is much bigger than we're being told.

That message after the first two days could have very easily been something like:

"I am God's Sword. I will keep killing Americans until the Blind Shiek and his followers are released".

LE is trying to carry on a dialog in the press. POB #s, phone calls, etc. Slowing down the killer as much as possible with false promises etc. Thus the last 5 days. The guy shot last night may well be FBI. This whole thing has reached a very crutial stage.

Yes. She was with her husband and he would've been a bigger target. Granted we do not know what positons they were in relative to the car ie, same side, different sides or loading stuff in the back.

But she was a cyber operations analyst working in counter terror applications. Too much of a coincidence for me.

Very true. Unfortunately, there is neither the preparatory teaching in lower grades nor the political will to enforce the standards that would make that possible again. But that's what I'm working towards for the future (dream a little dream...).

LOL. I understand. :) Well, I see, I guess. People are just so very upset, and have every reason to be. It was strange, to me, because the other school districts (Montgomery County, for sure) have been in lock down, and seem to be doing okay with that. Richmond area first announced a lock down status, I believe, then went on to the closure. I am relieved it is out of parental concern and nothing worse. Goodnight to all, I'm leaving on the more positive note of concerned parents. God Bless America.
