No confirmations, just guessing at everything. Looks like 7/4 is just a little "snippy" tonight.
Not me though. I understand people don't always read the entire thread before commenting, happens all the time.

You seem to be stuck on this communication thing, as if talking nice to a person like this will solve the crime.

My domestic nutjob extortionist theory is bearing fruit. The sniper wants something. It may not be money either.
I'm afraid to say, but a more high profile target may be next. Just when the authorities seemed to be poised to go into a news blackout, the sniper ups the ante with this new note. Won't let his carnage go unoticed. Definately baiting the authorities now.
Please let this insanity stop.....

I guess we'll find out...

Then the police should be spending half their time working the AQ angle; I don't think they are.

The fact that messages are being left is the evidence.
To: brigette
Only in the movies does it tke time to trace a call. It's instantaneos and linked to database....

Note left for police -- "Dear Pliceman, Ooops, I did it again."
Call to Chief after announcement - "Heelo Moose? This is Mr Magoo. I have Rocky and ya gotta pull a rabbit outa yer hat to get him back, Muahahaha."
Disclaimer this is a joke it is only a joke.

Going down to Gitmo was an indication that they were looking at it don't you think?

Here's an
anagram generator. I stuck in "Manassas" and got a few arabic sounding returns, but since I don't speak the language, I can't say for sure.

Check out Google for the data on the Islamic version of I am God.Just out of curiosity, why don't YOU do that?

Middle Eastern terrorists have never been known to play cat and mouse games with local police. Nor is this some message of exhortation to moslems delivered to al-Jazeera television in Qatar.
I'm afraid all the signs point toward someone who is homegrown.

Saw Chevy Astro vans in our neighborhood installing dish systems--and they had the exact ladder racks as in the composite. They're very common.

And if the message was just the number "911" ? And why are the authorities (if they are) pursuing this in GITMO?
