The photos above currently on the Drudge site concern me. I followed the link and the article clearly stated that nobody was arrested last night.
Why then, do we have drivers of white vans, innocent civilians, evidently being pulled out vans at gunpoint and treated like dangerous criminals? One photo shows a man on the ground, evidently in handcuffs, with police officers standing over him as though they have just captured Whitey Bulger. When I first saw the photo, I figured the man was obviously a wanted criminal that police just so happened to come across during their search. But since there were no arrests last night, this man was obviously released and was no criminal after all.
The other photo shows a man by another white van with his hands in the air and a police officer has a gun drawn on him. Again, this was evidently just another innocent civilian who had the misfortune to be driving a white van on I-95 last night.
Now I understand the need for these roadblocks and for the police to be very thorough in their search for the sniper(s). But I cannot see the point of innocent people dragged out of their vehicles at gunpoint with no pretext other than the fact that they happen to be driving a white van.
Now maybe somebody here has an explanation why these two individuals were treated like criminals. Maybe they tried to evade the police or maybe they were driving stolen vans. But again, there were no arrests made last night. So what is the deal with our citizens being treated like Jesse James just for driving a white van?
And I'll come up there and do the court reporting for you, free of charge. Nobody feels violated there.
Heck, my husband travels to Maryland AND northern Virginia. Think I'm worried?
Well the French also have a saying that goes something like this:
If the van can't do ze time, it shouldn't do ze crime.
Yes, it is, and completely wrong and illegal!
but also horrifying is the real potential for the cop
Nature of the job. Can't take the heat??
No, I said no such thing. This whole thread started because someone posted a picture captioned "Drivers of White Vans Being Treated as Criminals" or something similar.
Those of us who didn't see the picure as an example of that, said so, but speaking for myself, I didn't insinuate that you and others who held differing opinions, were personified by little animated graphics.
Discussion here is one thing, insinuation by people like yourself lacking facts, is another. You have no right to ridicule people for their beliefs any more than they do you for yours. My point being, if you don't have the facts before you go poking at others for a differing point of view, get the facts! Discussion and personal insinuation are different words. Look it up.
As for being "bandwith challenged" this forum is owned and operated privately and people contribute if they can to keep it operational. When you post anything, it uses bandwith on a server that doesn't belong to you or me and alot of people use it for a million different reasons. Consideration and a co-operative spirit rule here, for those reasons and a million more. This forum hasn't ever been shut down for confrontational discussions, but most of us are aware this forum is here thanks to the Robinson family and it's a privilege to use it, not a right!
And that's all anyone should expect from you, LIR.
After all, you are blonde!
Thank you Scott. I appreciate it very much.
What was the ultimate outcome in that case?

These aren't conservatives, they are anarchists.
BTW, don't let it bother you, it's half the fun of FR. We've always had them, right from the very beginning. Most of the time you just skim past their posts, but occasionally they're fun to engage, if only for the amusement factor.
One question for you, PA:
What in the sam hell have hooker raids got to do with trying to catch this sniper?
No it isn't.
Nature of the job. Can't take the heat??
You know... cops are kindof expensive to replace all the time, and their families love them. I don't mind them trying not to get shot. There is no value in them "taking the heat".
