Ashland Shooting: Sunday Updates
Various ^ | 10-20-02 | GRRRRR

Posted on 10/20/2002 4:13:26 AM PDT by GRRRRR

The other thread is running over 2800 posts...so here's a new place to post for Sunday.

Per FOXNews, a 10am EASTERN news conference is planned. Two travelers pulled off I-95 for dinner at a Ponderosa Steak House. The Man, 37, was shot in the gut while his wife stood next to him.

Bullet has NOT been removed from the man while, after surgery, he remains in Critical but GUARDED condition, however, x-rays are expected to provide some dimensional analysis of the slug. Further surgeries may be required on the victim, according to FOX and then the bullet is likely to be recovered.

Meanwhile, the "white" box truck/van that was found with a "Shell" in it at Dulles is reported to be a 7.62 (.030'??) OLD shell and NOT expected to be part of the "Sniper Shootings".

Multiple LEA's are now in Ashland, VA located about 80 miles south of DC to begin more site investigations at first light of dawn.

Numerous witnesses in the area saw the man fall down and provided aid to the man. The man was still conscious and spoke during the rescue. According to (spit) CNN, there will be NO news conferences from the hospital.

Over to you Laurie Dhue...GRRRRRollin'

As a former US Army Infantry Captain and a current firearms instructor....I can filed strip an M-16/AR-15 in less than a minute. A Mini-14 will take longer. Except for the bolt a bolt action rifle will require tools to get it apart and then you have to contend with that full stock and barrel. So you'll have at least two long and large components. Still the case is what is best disguised rather than whats inside.

For extra credit, where did several of the 9/11 terrorists live and study?

They lived in Falls Church, Virginia, also known as "Little Mecca".

They studied at the Islamic Center of Northern Virginia, also in "Little Mecca".

Other things to see and do in Falls Church:

Start you day with a visit the Islamic Revival Movement (PO Box 1477 Falls Church, VA 22041).

Next up, stop by Dar Al-Hijra (3159 Row St, Falls Church, VA 22044 703-536-1030 Fax: 703-536-1035) and say hello (BYOKevlar).

Then, you can drop the kids off at the World Assembly of Muslim Youths (WAMY) (P.O. Box 8096 Falls Church, VA 22041 703-931-7239 Fax: 703-931-7253) where they can play with (hopefully) fake explosives and peace-loving Muslim children.

Visit the International Islamic Society (PO Box 5132 Falls Church, VA 22044), have a falafel and pledge your undying support to the destruction of the Great Satan and the Zionist Occupation.

Learn to love Moslems and hate the rest of the world at the International Islamic Relief Organization (IIRO) (360 S. Washington Street Falls Church, VA 22046 1-800-955-4476/703-536-IIRO Fax: 703-536-9170).

And wrap up your day by taking a guided tour of The Home Depot parking lot (6201 Arlington Blvd, Falls Church, VA 22044) to see one of Islam's most recent good works...

Went to a Richmond KK around 11 this morn, it's next to Staples Mill Rd, which has an interstate exit nearby.

As I was exiting the Donut lot, I got to count a parade of State Police Vehicles pulling onto Broad St off of Staples Mill. They all turned into a shopping Center across the street. One, two. Three four five; then six. Then Seven. Then eight!

I came prepared with cell phone and "ramming car" ... but this was my only excitement for the morning.

Don't anyone kid yourselves, the FBI, the Secret Service and Homeland Security are running this investigation - not the local police. Any attack by snipers in the Washington, D.C. area will be covered by top government agencies since this is the seat of power. The only reason not to publicly call it terrorism is to prevent the publicity given to the extremist terrorists in their actions (which is what they want), to prevent panic and to avoid all the stupid questions as the media zoom in on the federal agencies rather that Capt. Moose, and to make the terrorists feel they really don't know what is going on - yet - they know full well.

This says it all...

Even listening to Moose, one can hear that this is exactly what is happening. Moose said we are working on a physical profile and will release one to you, by the close of business today! (over a week ago)

A day or two later he trotted out a Geographical Profiler and said that the best minds in criminology agree with me (Moose), and that is why we will not be releasing partial profile information (because it paints groups...)

I know what you mean about us Texans. I once moved out of state (didn't last a year without coming back) and wondered, "What's wrong with these people??"

"It is a law enforecement mantra - certainly the view overwhelmingly promoted by the FBI - that there is no such thing as "terrorism" until someone takes credit for the act."

I certainly agree that this seems to be a part of the current dogma of the FBI. However, I don't think that in this instance they really believe it. It is merely a convenient fiction behind which they can take shelter.

The FBI like any Federal agency takes its cues from the administration in power. No administration wants to admit they are relatively powerless to protect its citizens from acts of terrorism. It is political suicide. As others in this forum have already alluded to such a revelation would be guaranteed to create additional panic. A situation that would probably be further exploited by the terorists and certainly by one's political opponents. Ergo if another plausible explanation can be found we almost never have acts of terrorism commited within the confines of the United States.

Unless and until the present administration is prepared to accept the inherent political risks of admitting that these shootings are in fact acts of foreign based terrorism we can only expect the FBI and other Federal law enforcement agencies will be very reluctant in getting too far out of line with the White House's posture.

"This sort of thing can't be ruled out either. Our own home-grown islamics may have gotten settled into the area and could now be setting up operations"

I agree. I didn't mean to imply that U.S. citizens (naturalized or otherwise) could not be a part of a foreign based terrorist cell. By foreign based I was referring to the element of control rather than the actual makeup of the cell.

Well, there's nothing out there that I can find on this tarot card being written in German. The closest I could find is a WashPost article that states:

"One expert pointed out that Eric Harris, one of two teenagers who killed a dozen fellow students and a teacher at Columbine High School in Colorado, wrote "I am God" in German in a classmate's yearbook before the slayings."

link

But the link will probably want you to register, though I didn't. I did find that through google though, which let me read the whole article without registering.

Evidently not enough Americans are dying in this country, so we'll send a bunch to the Middle East to make it easier for the Muslims to kill them.

Uh, Hank, the ones we send to the ME are extremely difficult to kill. Its much easier to do it here after walking across the border or coming in on a student visa...
