"Have Americans become that passive?"I believe you're the first to actually post this question. It really is worth pondering. I know that if something like this happened and I witnessed it, I wouldn't hesitate to give chase and get on the cell phone to 911. I don't claim to be a superhero or anything but what the heck, I'd rather take the chance and help nab these guys to prevent them from doing it again.

"Hey, I like Ted!" Me too.
If only he would buy a "g". I'm really tired of hearing about shootins.

Did they think it was because of the shootings? Honestly? Yes. Business dried up after the HD shooting.

White van with ladder... uh huh. Decoy.
To: rintense
I have an HD close by.
They never have what I go to buy. NEVER. It can be a light bulb, a particular size screw, an air filter, a submersible pump, whatever, it doesn't matter. If I go to buy it, they are out of stock.
Their selection of anything is smaller and lower-end than Lowes has.

The helicopter saw it and did they give chase?

She turned out to be 47, which is, of course, not "elderly." Close. Once you get beyond 47 you begin to feel elderly.
ASHLAND, Va. (AP) -- A shooting at a Ponderosa restaurant attracted a swarm of law enforcement Saturday night, including a task force investigating the string of sniper shootings in the Washington, D.C. area.
Maryland State Police Sgt. William Vogt said troopers were on the lookout for a white van with a ladder rack.
State police spokeswoman Corinne Geller said portions of Interstate 95 were immediately shut down as police set up road blocks. She said it was too early to tell if the shooting was related to sniper shootings.
She said
Montgomery County police Capt. Nancy Demme said the sniper task force was on its way.
Geller said the victim was taken to MCV Hospital in Richmond. She could not confirm whether the victim was a man or woman and she did not know the person's condition.
Raymond Loving, who owns a Texaco gas station about 50 yards from the steakhouse, told CNN a woman came into his gas station and said someone had been shot in the parking lot.
"She didn't see anything. She just heard a loud boom," Loving said.

They're getting Herdildo Rivera's take on this, FROM INDONESIA!! Who cares what that chimp has to say?
To: dark_lord
Seems to me that it would be fairly logical that the sniper changed the plates. Won't you think?
To: nicmarlo
The more stuff that comes out about the psychological profile of the sniper, the less I think it is the work of a terrorist. This "I am God" stuff is more like the Son of Sam than Bin Laden. Muslims try to "please" God (by killing infidels), not "be" God.
Ultimately, this might be one sick creep with alot of time on his hands.
