Just reported. Took place outside of a Ponderosa Steakhouse. Not sure if it is related or not at this time. Police have shut down parts of I-95.

Yep, he can just blend in with society and striking when the time is right. Victim in relatively stable condition. I don't like the way that sounds "relatively stable". Good night. I'm signing off. I hope the guy makes it.

Montgomery officials are on the way to the crime scene...

I don't know. It is possible.

The location of the shooting is far from a "Rough Area". It's hicktown USA. Ashland is a suburb of Richmond, Va. and is populated with pickup trucks and home to Randolph Macon College. Train tracks cut through a stretch of civil war era antibellum homes...............and that's it.
95 is a mile away and is a great stopping place for gas, dinner and a motel or two. Other than that....it's flyover country.
I deer and turkey hunted for years about a mile from where tonights episode took place.

Hope they get them BEFORE they find safe haven again.
The poor victim(s).

"It sure looks like they got there asap"Fox news reported that the local police here have been developing contingency plans over the last couple of weeks in case these shootings were to more south. Therefore, that may explain the rapid response time.

LOL; haven't seen my mail, will check later......I don't mind being chastise for posting wrong info....or even "right info" that's wrong info, lol. Besides, you weren't nasty about the wax in your ears. :)

Okay, you guys STOP them BEFORE they get to Arkansas! Are you afraid you won't get the spy plane when they get to Arkansas? [I suspected the whole big announcement about the military spy plane looking down on the Washington DC area was meant to calm the masses.]

I was almost starting to feel like maybe they had the spree shooter in custody (but not telling the press). I was hopeing this was over. Also noticed in the latests post that they are now saying the shell case in the white truck is not a .223, and Moose said that info would not be available till Monday.

My best friend's parents are traveling through that area. I called her and told her the news. She said she had just heard from her father, 60, who was calling from a restaurant. Sent chills up my spine. Thank GOD both her parents are safe.

It obvious that day shooting has crossed over to nightime shooting for all the reasons you would see as advantage to the terrorists. This may have to be factored into the shooting profile being gathered!

I was at one of those football games today. Authorities moved our games out of Fairfax County to rural areas of Virginia since we hadn't played one in weeks. Football practice has been held in the gym.

WTOP traffic guy says they are asked not to publicize where the road blocks are. Might not be a bad idea on FR to avoid mentioning locations of roadblocks.
