In this case all gunowners of this specific caliber are being treated as criminals.

The same could be said of all the owners of "white box vans" no?

"That's not standing up, that's being a jerk."

Why is that being a jerk?

At what point do I have the "right" to require a legal warrant?

I am not a suspect, my weapon is not a suspect, no one has been seen running into my house carrying a smoking .223. I doubt that any of my neighbors even know I have one. There is absolutely no "probable cause" to bother me at all.

If there were a serial rapist in your state, would you expect to be DNA tested simply because you have the same type "weapon" as the rapist?

Would you allow your hard drive to be searched because "somebody" was sending threatening email?

I wonder, are you one of those people who can flash a badge and say "member of the force" when pulled over?

Instead of B-movie westerns lets talk about history of the "old west". During that time Wyatt Earp tamed 3 of the wildest towns of the era, Tombstone, Dodge City and Wichita. In all 3 his first action was to "repeal the right to carry" of populace. He could have cared less about the 2nd amendment. That was the pattern of every local sheriff, marshal or constable of the time. So before you call someone “clueless” you may want to buy one for yourself.

Geez....were those towns and places in actual states at the times you refer to?

Wow! Imagine that! A lawman disregarding the Constitutional protections of American citizens! Un-friggin-believable!

Now, sonny, let's move onward. Take the tequila and cork it. Sober up and learn.

The police and other law enforcement agencies are seemingly unable to catch the perp. It hasn't happened yet. Doesn't appear to be imminent.

It is our duty as free men and women to defend our lives, homes, families and neighborhoods. Now, you may want to beg for the authorities to protect you. "Please! Protect me! Be my Daddy!"

I choose to do what generations of Americans have done: defend myself and band together with like-minded folks who know that safety comes from community and co-operation. Not from waiting for the other guy to do it.

but some people who post about "rights", on threads like this, are really concerned about a right that dosen't exist - their right to partake of illegal drugs.

And some who post about "rights" (love the quote marks), like me, aren't.

I'm still collecting information but as of last count at least a dozen owners in Maryland have been approached, either by phone or in person.

In each case the person was approached because of the caliber of weapon being tracked back to them based on information on a 4473.

This is in direct violation of the Brady Act. Lawyers and gunowners in MD are active and a challenge will be made.

Let me make this clear. The ballistic testing is the ruse to get "willing" owners to submit to testing. But there have been cases of gunowners who have not submitted to testing who have been questioned and possibly had guns seized who have not submitted to testing.

As I thought, you have nothing that is based on the reality of this country for its entire history just what you have seen on old westerns. That is why you cannot be dealt with in a meaningful manner.

Amen and good night! Praying for some GOOD news tomorrow before I have to fly out of this Kennedy-esque he** hole.

However, any GOOD news wouldn't be believable by this group of twits running the local show...

Good police officials do not fault citizens who insist on recognition of Constitutional requirements and protections.

My uncle tried that once. He flashed his badge after getting pulled over for speeding in an out of state jurisdiction. What he got for his trouble was a half-hour long berating by his fellow police officer in front of the rest of us and a fat ticket. LOL.

You're free to demand a warrant while people die.

I am not a suspect, my weapon is not a suspect

Then help narrow the search. Or just act like a jerk.

It's your choice.

No. The Brady Act prohibits LEO from asking specific questions and seeking specific information based on ownership.

They are doing it anyway. You should look in to this.

Now, now, don't get your thong in a bunch....Now, if you're one who'd rather bend over, grab the ankles and spread'em for the authorities.....be my guest. Just don't expect me to join your party.

Charming. Absolutely charming. I'm sure justshe really appreciated that.

"The Second Amendment declares that it shall not be infringed, but this, as has been seen, means no more than that it shall not be infringed by Congress." -- US Supreme Court, U.S. v. Cruikshank, 92 U.S. 542 (1875), Presser v. State of Illinois, 116 U.S. 252 (1886)

Another clueless poster. All too believable.

Possibly not compensating for the fact that the scope is not zeroed in at tonight's distance?

If so, it was over-compensating.
The others have been head-chest shots. And this was done on a weekend, unlike the rest.

Might be the 'B' players on the field for the 7th inning ...

No. The Brady Act prohibits LEO from asking specific questions and seeking specific information based on ownership.

Tell me what is not logical about using records of this type of weapon to follow the only real evidence they have?
