I agree, his change of mind appeared irratic. Possibly some information came to mind that he decided he could relay. I don't care for the young man from the Sheriff's Dept. He seems nice enough and willing to help, but I liked the crusty ol' tough chief at the very first briefing.
I was thinking all three shootings in Virginia were victims not living in Virginia. The Manassas victim lived in Maryland, the one from Pennsylvania, and now this out-of-town person. Who am I missing? The killer is a Virginian who zeroes on out-of-state tags?

I am certainly leaning something new to me tonight with your post. BTW, hope your daughter is OK. That has to be a tough one.

LOL - well, knock it off! Several people had the shakes and had to go into detox when you didn't come back the other day. (Myself included.) So glad you're back.

The whole thing is rather amazing. No wonder martial law becomes an option. Maybe that's the strategy? Sorry, cynicism hour started 26 minutes ago here...

That's what I think, too. Maybe people know him around that area (Fredericksburg) and any connection to the victim would be a "lead".
I do think his homebase is near Fredericksburg.

So, officers proceed with your Constitutions drawn and dare not trample an individual right. Oh, And watch out for the armed sniper while you're there. Hell what's a few dead cops if their "inalienable" right to not be inconvenienced is in danger.

It is the uncertainty and the irresolution that opens the way for the enemies of the Second Amendment and all of our other rights. Shut the enemy down quickly and resolutely, and that won't be a problem. Pussyfooting just plays into the hands of the axis of evil...the Islamists and the Democrats. Perhaps we do not disagree after all. But for me, I decry this false sense of reliance on government for protection. We have both the right and the duty to protect ourselves. But martial law is a step in the WRONG direction, IMO.

So, you would oppose locking down an area for a short time while it was assured that the shooter could not escape?
Your Second Amendment rights would not be infringed in the least by this military operation.
Let's say the Islamo-fascists landed an infantry division in the town next to yours. Would you think it an infringement on your rights if you had to identify yourself to the American sentry, and prove that you were who you said you were?
We are in a war...things are different in a war.

To be quite frank, since these shootings started, I have been stunned at the law enforcement personnel I have been seeing, conduting these news conferences. In my opinion, from credibility to professionalism, the rank very low.
Just my opinion.....

Answering my own question: The one I'm missing is the Arlington woman killed at Seven Corners in Fairfax County. I wonder if the car she was driving had Florida tags, or wherever she had recently moved here from.

Has Harry Belafonte accounted for his whereabouts during this spree?

According to what I just heard on Foxnews is that the Man is in very critical condition and may not make it thru the night!
To: rolling_stone
HEY everybody! I live in Virginia, and I'm on this thread to find out about the latest shooting! I'm sick of having to go through 20 or more off-topic posts to try to find out what the h3ll's going on!
If you want to talk about unrelated BS like whether or not Paine was a naturalist or a deist, or share your grandma's chocolate chip cookie recipes, or whatever, then please go somewhere else!

conducting, conducting......getting late......

Amen to that.
And we'll be here a long time after they are dead and gone (but still voting!)!

a large number of Americans who just won't face the fact that they have brought WAR...REAL WAR...to our soil If this is true, why wasn't our border secured on September 12, 2001?
We can lockdown schools, airports, office buildings, and now interstate highways, but not the borders? Not even attempt to?
Also, if this is a "real war", why are the politicians still trying to disarm the American people?
Something doesn't add up here.
Having said that, I don't doubt for a minute that there are many radical Islams in this country and around the world who seek to destroy us. They should be dealt with in an appropriate manner.
But I've always maintained that the "domestic enemies of the Constitution" are far more dangerous than the foreign ones.
To: ArneFufkin
Fox expert says there is "at least one person" involved with shooting...maybe more.
How much are they paying this expert and I wonder how long he had to strain himself to come up with this amazing conclusion.
