Ah, the 'pure democracy' insert.
A pure democracy is 3 wolves and 1 sheep setting down to vote what's for dinner.
We, (thank God) live in (used to?) a Constitutional Republic. Subtle difference? Not to the sheep...

So is it your understanding that "give me liberty or give me death" is a founder's passionate plea for anarchy?
All laws--ALL laws--restrict liberty. Are you saying you would rather die than live in a nation of laws?

I do no not believe it's Al Quedea at this junction......

And there you have one of the prime reasons for the second amendment. If "the majority", menaing 50% +1, want to take away the rights of the minority, it will cost them. If the "majority" ever succeeds in repealing the second amendment, I don't think they will be the "majority" for very long.

OH BOY, FOX is now questioning the credibility of law enforcment and Moose.........
To: Howlin
I could type slower, but I know that wouldn't help and you're just toying with me.
You know well the meanings and intents. The Founders weren't speechwriters for God. They also didn't want a state church like the English Anglican church.
To: Fred Mertz
The feds can't do it. The local LEOs can't do it. It's in our hands. We can do it. Yes.

FOX now questioning law enforcement and chief Moose.....LOL!

I have a duty as a citizen, too, remember? It's to support and abide by the Constitution AS WRITTEN.......pardon me if I don't take the interpretation of people who think the sky is falling.

You would think that anyone going to the trouble of shooting innocents would have a spot to hide the weapon picked out that was not obvious to a visual search. The distances involved do not preclude a rifle caliber pistol, though I've heard some claim that the cases indicate extraction by a semi-auto action. There would have to be a pretty good search to really look for the weapon.

I heard that!

And there you have one of the prime reasons for the second amendment. If "the majority", menaing 50% +1, want to take away the rights of the minority, it will cost them. Might make them less likely to get such whims, might it not?
But if the majority took away the 2nd Amendment where would you be? Some seem to think that the "right" would no longer exist since it would not be granted by the Constitution any more. I suppose the only solution would be to march up and turn in your guns if that happened.

Go to bed.
To: Letitring
Since it has been taken over by some Constitution freaks, I am bidding you all goodnight.Never thought I'd see this on a conservative web site...I know an extreme liberal who uses that term all the time...

Well, I think the words 'Martial Law' would freak out the entire country, even with the most careful explanation. This is a very difficult question to answer. Thank you for doing so.
