In Alberta some people do.
They had an interesting case last year involving a sex offender serving time in a prison up near Red Deer. His wife divorced him as soon as he was convicted, and moved away to another province.
While in prison, the guy filed a suit in Canadian court for visitation rights for their one young child. The court ruled that he had a right to see his child, so the wife was ordered to bring the child into the prison for a visit.
This generated a lot of outrage in rural Alberta, where most people don't even consider themselves Canadian. When the wife showed up with the child she needed a police escort because a band of angry citizens blockaded the gate of the prison. They threatened to "abduct" the child from the police and prison officials. They reached a peaceful resolution that day, because they agreed to call off the visit and bring the child back the following week.
A couple of days later, the guy filed another motion from prison asking the Canadian court to vacate its earlier ruling. He said he didn't want to have his child visit him in prison, and he had no interest in having any contact with his family at all.
The story I heard through the grapevine was that he filed that motion from a bed in the prison infirmary. He needed someone else to do it for him, though, because he had been given a thorough beating the night before and had broken both of his arms.
The official story, of course, was that he fell down a flight of stairs.

And if someone doesn't believe in God, he has no rights, right? Nope. God even protects fools, drunks and.... atheists.

That's why "humans" need to defend those Rights, which are God-given and natural in essence.
That's why the Revolution was fought. Whatta concept, huh?!
Oh great! now we are guilty untill proven inoccent. GiddyUp! Apparently it's the *new war rules*. Haven't determined yet whether they're the same ones aligned with political correctness, Islam is Peace, Non-Profiling, etc...
Question: how "receptive" do you think the naysayers (on this topic) are to gun fingerprinting? How about a National ID Card? Someone posted awhile back... *THINK*
the Silence is Deafening.

Why does G-d only grant these rights to Americans? What about the Christians in Indonesia or Sudan? Why doesn't G-d give them rights?
The founders said "all men". These peoples you mention have these rights, but they have instituted governments that trample on them rather than respect them.

And where exactly does G-d grant these rights? Where in the bible? (Please don't mention the DOI)The burden of proof is not on me to "prove" my rights exist. The burden is on government to prove that they have been granted the Constitutional power by the people to limit my rights.

God Given Rights? The only state that God supposdely set up was a theocratic kingship. What does that have to with a Republic? God's Chosen people fought for the Persian Tyrant to destroy Greek Democracy. We are not given anything. We get rights by fighting like hell for them.

I figured out where my rights came from and where they are going a long time ago.....They came from the people of the United States as laid out in the Constitution of the United States of which I am a citizen and my rights are going down the toilet as liberal judges flush their BS.Which is exactly the reason you better give the origin of unalienable rights some more thought friend.

Obviously you're confused me with someone who listens to you. Rebeckie's quit and you're lonely?

Sloppy thirds!

To the extent that you and I would not enjoy these "unalienable" rights that you refer to were it not for the constiution and the acceptence of and enforcement of it by the people of the US, the cliam that these rights come from G-d is a bit of a moot point.

Add "thoroughfares" to the words destroyed by this man. He says "throughofares" instead.
