"Lessismore says that it is cloudy tonight. Maybe the shooter waited for a cloudy day?"
Yes - Has the weather in the area has been clear this week before today?

Isn't there a type of light that can be shined on an area to determine if there is gun powder residue present? If so, can't the police simply shine this light into vehicles and on the hands of drivers?

But those things are predicated on the ability to live and breath. They are, granted, the kinds of things one will willingly give up one's life to defend. And I do not take those things lightly.
However, lifting up the rights of the individual as paramount to all else is anarchy and not at all what our nation is based upon.

Cloudy...enough to dim the moonlight??

You're posting style if beginning to look familiar; who were you before?
To: rintense
Correct. There hasn't been any credible evidence for vehicles- including tonight. Exactly .. seems they aren't taking the chance of being lied to again and the sniper possibly geting away

Thank you for your 1643 post. Finally, someone that is thinking the same way as me.
The way the shooter(s) are doing this, they are gone in 2-3 minutes, we will never catch them.
What scares the crap out of me is that this could only be the beginning and sort of a TEST market. America could go into a "lock down" for a long, long time. No sports at any leval, schools like a prison (they already are), hospitals, Wal-Mart, golf courses, all in a dilema.
I know this is a worst cast situation, but it is scary to think it could happen.
I even hate to post this, but it could happen.

Well, allowing for red lights and traffic blocking your exit from the crime scene, ten minutes for 60 miles is probably a good guesstimate. Another public school graduate. Come on, people, think. Some of yor are embarassing the forum.

Yes, after July 4, 1776 the British were foreigners. As were the Hessians.

Can criminals take refuge in a religious dwelling and be protected?

When you mentioned Hampton it made my shakes turn to shudders and disbelief.

The law enforcement response of the VA LEO's and the manner they have handled their press conferences have been very impressive.
I don't know why they let this Moose guy take the PIO lead for the "task force". (Maybe it ties up his time and gets him out of the way so the more effective investigators can work.)
I think it is also telling that tonight the Chief and Lt. Doug Goodman emphasized repeatedly that if they had any credible description of the vehicle or perps they would release them. Seemed as if they were emplicitly critical of the way this whole thing has been handled with the public and the media by the other jurisdictions.
It thought (especially the first) newconference(s) were frank, open, and very refreshing. A very effective approach. Leads me to think they have their stuff together (no evidence of turf wars either). Just a thought.

Listen, if you guys come here to get into a p*ssing contests, we're not interestedGeeez, must have hit a nerve...Sorry...
But regardless, I will not consent to a police state to protect my life, nor yours...
The police are not going to get these guys with a road block...When they start searching mosques and other Islam hideouts, I'll know they are serious about getting the terrorists...
To: abner
I personaly think this is mulsim terrorism too. But that isn't good logic. Every time someone points out a mosque near a shooting, there are probably 2-3 Church's nearby too. Must be a right wing christian gun nut then. See, not a good piece of evidence...

This is precisely why I think this whole van thing is a crock. The sniper is on foot, and makes it to a waiting vehicle- away from all the attention.
