Like you, I drive by that part of Route 50 several times a week and I had never noticed that part of the parking lot across Rout 50 from the Home Depot before. It's possible that the van or truck went West on Route 50 after the shooting, crossed under the Route 7 underpass and then turned left on to the service road that leads to Annandale Road. From there they could make their way as far as Springfield or Newington via Backlick and hide the truck or van in one of the many industrial parks in that area.

OTOH, the shooter if he separated from the driver, could walk or run East, get on the W & OD bike trail (less than 1 mile away) and walk unseen all the way to the beltway or beyond. I mention this because I heard a rumor that the police dogs did pick-up a track in that park the next day.

For the benefit of those not familiar with the area I am talking about, it may only be a coincidence, but Seven Corners is surrounded by one of the larger Middle Eastern communities in Northern Virginia.

Is it just possible that the sniper has made his/her point with 11 hits and nine dead? Is that number correct?

Thanks for sharing your first-hand observations. From your description, this doesn't sound to me like the same area the media trashed, is it?

Also, any estimate as to how far away the shooter would have been if he used your spot?

I think that the bullet casing found in the white van at the airport is a hoax. Same as the witness giving false account at Home Depot shooting. Keeps the investigation going and keeps the news anchors mouths flapping. A plant like this keeps the fear close to mind with little risk.

We have auto "tunnel vision".

Every workday, I get into my vehicle, do my little maneuvers and head off on the highway to work.

About three days ago, I got in my car as I always do, and looked straight ahead but farther than I usually do...alas and alack, there was a scarecrow dressed in blue jeans and a white shirt in a garden about 400 feet away...Geez.

Found out it's been there since late spring.

As for Total Rental, it's amazing to think that the police, having had a description of a truck with Total [something] painted on the side, didn't simply pick up a phone book and look for local businesses named "Total [something

Seems like there was word about a week ago a witness said the vehicle said "Total" something on it.

The good news is that we may have a matching casing.

The bad news is we may have another possible "taunt" of the police and "he still has the weapon".

Just noticed that the Bowie hit (where he left the card and casing) was the 9th hit if you count the "window only" at Michael's.

Is he done??...No, counting Michael's there have been 12 hits. The number on the death card is 13 and M is the 13th letter of the alphabet. Michael's sure seems like a "code" thing more and more.

Greta did a segment last night on the shooting at the liquor store in late Sept(forgot the exact date)....that shooting sure looks like the same shooter...it could have been a trial run.

btw...the LEO's have renewed their interest in that shooting and came back yesterday to re-interview the owner of the liquor store...his employee was shot as they were exiting and locking up for the night.....heading to their cars.

Yes, see my post a couple of posts back. We discussed this in a thread at or near the end of last week, after one of the shootings. Originally, someone noted this on one of the radio shows in the DC area when they were covering. I did some research and came up with the company. Then someone else also added on that they had multiple locations. All this was a week or more ago, on *Total Car and Truck Rental*. But another freeper today said, which might be true, that the shell is not connected or is a bad joke. Also, it might also be that the van was not even discovered at Total, but was at another agency near Dulles.

Goodluck! Hope you or other industrial Freeper researchers today can find that earlier thread on FR at least 7 to 10 days back that mentioned the particular DC-area rental agency in detail! This might be a dead end, but it is worth pursuing.....

OK. PENSKE, hmmmmm. That shoots the theory of that *Total Car/Truck Rental* of MD and VA to smithereens. Figures, since with such a blatant possibility, the police would have been nuts not to stake it out to catch the perp upon returning the truck.
