Washington D.C. Shooter a Muslim Extremist! (Old story, not the current sniper)
CNN, Glenn Beck Program

The shooter carried an AK-47, police have revealed. Frank Darling had no idea what he was facing, sitting in his car next to his wife on such an ordinary day. He was a 28 year old CIA analyst who loved serving his country. But in an instant his short life was snuffed out by a homicidal Muslim fanatic who shot him in the head, spraying, as his wife Judy tearfully recalls, pieces of skin all over the inside of the car.
66 year old CIA analyst Lansing Bennet was killed by the sniper as well.
This D.C. terrorist has indeed been captured. Yigal Amir Kasi's only regret is that he wasn't killed himself during the carnage. Kasi says he was trying to achieve no specific political goal, but rather wished only to punish America for its "mistreatment of Muslims around the world."
This particular terrorist murdered two, and critically wounded three outside CIA headquarters in January, 1993.
And he did it upon recieving instructions from a Madrassa in Pakistan. And when his lust for vengeance for imagined wrongs was sated, he fled to that country and avoided law enforcement for four years.
Currently he is on death row in Virginia.

Just a little reminder that D.C. Jihadists aren't exactly a new phenomenon.
Somebody tell me why the authorities keep saying there's no precedent for the bloodbath we're currently witnessing.
Doesn't this flashback make one question the common sense of all the "expert profilers" who keep pulling "White Male In His Twenties With Relationship Problems" out of the freaking ether?

Well, if they were shooting a AK-47 then it wasn't a .223. It would've been a 7.62X39mm.

Oh, not the sniper, I see. My bad.....
To: Burr5
But, but, but....he's supposed to be a disgruntled white man....a member of the NRA....a Republican....straight....a meat eater....and believes in the Bush tax cuts.
To: walkingdead
At least 3 manufacturers make an AK variant in .223

This particular sniper is up for execution either this month or next. An inspiration for the current sniper(s)?
I think so. I think there were three of them, per the latest al Qaeda video, but I believe they're all cooling their heels in Guantanamo even as we speak. There was a little-reported incident with a white van near Catholic University yesterday, and I'd bet they're gone by now. Either dead or on Gitmo.
But there'll be more, and I hope we're better prepared next time.

You can get the run-of-the-mill Saiga, which doesn't have the pistol grip, but I'd really like one of
these.

I added (Old story, not the current sniper) to the the title.
Please don't post deceptive stories.
Thanks.

There's nothing deceptive in this post AS**OLE. If you have no imagination and no ability to draw parallels that's your problem, not mine.
There is a POINT to my title.
But thanks so much for saving journalism by spoiling the surprise.

If you locate the true facts to that story, you will find that this was a hit. Three drivers were shot to block the intended target. Target was successfully take out and perp exited the country two hours later on a flight to the ME.

Thanks for the details. They sound real familiar.
My purpose in bringing all this up is to question the presumptions the people investigating this seem to carry around.
How dare they talk about "profiles" when this has happened once before, and when we are AT WAR with Islamic radicals?
