Subject: HEAD UP: Special Alert from SierraTimes.com

http://www.SierraTimes.com
This is Sierra Times Special Report

THU 10.17.02 18:15 Sierra Time

We believe we have several issues developing around the county - all *possibly*
involving the sniper mess. There have been three unexplained shootings in the Long
Island, New York Area, and two in near Columbus, Ohio.

Have there been any unexplained shootings in your news coverage area?
(please supply URL's to the story if there are any)

You can write to us at
news@sierratimes.com

Also: HEADS UP MARYLAND (and NO. VA)- We have received information from several sources in the Maryland area that
certain gun owners are being contacted by persons
claiming to be from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms asking (read: demanding) to "borrow" firearms for
ballistic fingerprinting as part of the DC sniper investigation. Those that do not comply are threatened with a visit
from the folks sporting the basic black dress code.

At least 5000 weapons have been 'voluntarily' surrendered in Maryland and Northern Virginia to
date.

We suspect those that comply will be engaging in a voluntary firearm confiscation program in the Maryland/DC area. If
you have received this call, please consult legal counsel *immediately*, and send a notice to this the following e-mail
address:

editor@sierratimes.com

We also suggest the following:
(from Gary Marbut)

Authentication of and response to phone inquiries from alleged BATF or FBI agents in re firearm possession:

1.  Ask for name, agency identification number (every agency uses something, badge number, etc), and telephone number.
If they won't give them, tell the caller to have his supervisor call and hang up.

2.   Once you get the identity data, tell the caller you will verify their identity with the 911 operator.  Then call
911 (all calls are recorded) and report the incident asking them to verify that the caller is not a hoaxer or to notify
the appropriate agency if it is a hoax.

2.   If the caller's bona fides are verified by the 911 operator, you can decide whether or not to contact an attorney.
If you do, he or she (not you, the client) will most likely call the agent back and say you'll be happy to respond to a
valid subpoena or warrant but not to participate in
this fishing expedition.   On the other hand, if you decide to let them see/test your firearm, make certain your
attorney negotiates the circumstances of it's prompt return FIRST.  Have the agency (through a higher up)  promise to
return it immediately after the test, agree to repair or compensate you for any damage, and to pay your attorney fees
and costs if you have to demand  or sue for it's return.

3.   Cooperation without an attorney representing you is simply too dangerous in view of both agencies recent record of
false testimony, false evidence, false affidavits to courts, etc.  They simply cannot be trusted.

Thank you,
Look for more coming up on The Sierra Times

No the store personnel women in their 20's and one in her 40's were too scared to do anything. The lady I have been seeing recently has now started to carry something appropriate on her person to defend herself should the need arise when she works in that shopping mall. She had been carrying something everywhere else but had not wished to violate work guidelines from corporate.

I note several other females taht work in that mall are taking their Pistol Permit courses over the next week.

Stay Safe ya'll , Cache and CYA from both those that are here to help and hurt us.

It's not to prevent law enforcement from breaking down your door. What this is is a way to preserve evidence for the lawsuit(s) that are going to be filed by an enterprising lawyer or lawyers. What better place to get this evidence is to subpoena the police department's own records?

However, last week the 911 system in Montgomery county was overloaded and went down for around 90 minutes because people didn't realize they were supposed to call the 888 number when the police released the composite of the van. Calling 911 when this occurs only adds to the congestion in that system and most certainly would help the system crash. And if--or more likely when--the shooter strikes again, and the 911 system is tied up by real emergency calls during that time period, demanding a 911 dispatcher verify the name of the person who called you only contributes to the chaos of that time.

But hey, do what you want.

It looks like there are some (post #30) that do not understand. They are the ones that will be knocking on our doors when the stuff hits the fan. Hope "Hank Kerchief" realizes the door will be deadbolted and well guarded.

Probably not related but local radio reports the back window of a car/mini-van? was shot out with birdshot yesterday in southwestern VT. No suspects. They are asking for information to help track down a suspect. (Of course) I took it the car was occupied and moving when this happened.

Heads up, Thirty. "Authorities" seem to be making some sort of play here.

Hope "Hank Kerchief" realizes the door will be deadbolted and well guarded.

While he may not understand that fact now if the rotating air movement device does get impacted by the flying feces he will learn this very quickly.

"Are my eyes really brown?"

I suggested to the Nazi's that there are certain parts of New York they should not try to invade and I am now telling you there are certain parts of America I suggest jackbooted thugs avoid attempting to confiscate firearms, from Brooklyn to south central Los Angeles and everywhere with a shooting range in between.

That is no doubt the likeliest explanation. I don't know if local LE feels there is another possibility or not. The report said "it has people in southwestern VT nervous because of the recent sniper shootings in Maryland". Typical.

The Sierra Times article asked about other unexplained shootings around the country so I threw it in.

The people reporting FBI and ATF agents coming around "asking questions about their guns" has me more worried than a rash of sniper shootings.

If nothing else, this case has demonstrated conclusively how hard it is to catch someone who fires one shot at range and disappears, even around the nation's capitol, even after 11 victims.

So what would be the antidote to thousands of folks who took one shot, once only in their lives, and went about their business?

BTW, I gotta stop posting and type my manuscript in the smooth on a production basis before it's yesterday's news. I'm putting it in MS Word for now for my proofreader list, I might post the first half in serial installments on sit-rep.com if I can, then I need to get a PO Box and a website right away. I hope to have a finished product before Christmas if not sooner, ASAP in fact.

If 5 (or any number) of Arab-looking men tried anything similar in Texas, at least one or 2 handguns would be produced, and the offenders would thereby be held for the cops or mall ninjas. This would certainly be the case if my wife had dragged me into the store.

I dunno; the threat that your front door might be kicked in by a bunch of JBT's seems to been a serious enough situtation for me to want to get something on record.

I agree. If somebody whose identity is unverified tells you he's sending a bunch of people dressed as SWAT to your door, it would be prudent to ask 911 to verify these guys are really cops, and not a bunch of terrs looking to increase their arsenal

This is CT the number of pistol permits is limited due to the fact that politically correct idiots outnumber the human beings here.
