[history]
October 18, 2002 -- A NON-STOP frenzy of psychological profiling has been gushing out of televisions, newspapers, and magazines since the start of the "Sniper Killings" in the suburbs of Washington, D.C., earlier this month, producing in almost every case a rather too pat portrait of a killer (or perhaps two) who are white, in their 20s or early 30s, have military experience, enjoy exercising the god-like power of life and death, and are alienated from society.

Have y'all noticed the preferred profile of the anthrax killer is also some angry white dude who's a member of the vast right wing conspiracy?
No, I thought he was a person of interest.

"... There is only one party that has a reputation for being tough on crime and wanting a strong national defense so as to make America secure. Since everyone already knows which party that is, I don't even have to mention it, do I. Therefore, those who don't vote for members of that party can be blamed for deliberately putting America in extreme danger. Notice in the link below the number of terrorist cells (that they *know about*) that are operating in the area where the sniper attacks just took place: 2 cells in Virginia, 1 in D.C. and 2 in Maryland. There were 9 attacks in 11 days in those SAME areas. ..Good thing we have strong anti-gun laws there, huh?
I'm sorry babe. I couldn't help myself. Smootches sweetie............FRegards

I think the sniper (s) is (are) an Islamic terrorist.
He is destroying the local economy.
He is causing a full showing of the methodology to be used in emergencies and such.
The sniper now knows the extent that America will go to catch ONE killer of a dozen or so people.
He now knows all the plans for which he must build defenses against.
The sniper ,I think, is enjoying the pundits yak about US snipers being GOOD, and used to gather INTELLIGENCE!
Please, are we supposed to believe that US snipers in Afghanistan and Iraq are not killling people right now?
Until America understands that the CHEAP methods of warfare being used by the Islamic terrorists will do us in ,just like the Viet Cong used, we will suffer.
Now the sniper knows our response models. He knows our fears. He knows how he can destroy the economy.
Don't you think he will do so in all the major American cities?
Will the snipers not try to get American Black Muslims to join him?
What will happen when 20 or so US cities are being sniped and burned?
For the cost of a few rifle shells, a few Islamic terrorists can "close" down America.
So , when will our government round them up, ship them out and seal our borders?

S/He or they are waiting for the weekend . It was all over the media Monday that shooter(s) went two weekends without shooting, so following the pattern means proving everyone wrong and doing it ON the weekend. I sure hope I'm wrong, but you have to look at it.

I hope you are totally wrong, but your theory is not dismissible.
FOX news just had someone on, another profiler, didn't have a pen handy so couldn't write it down). He thinks it's terrorists because if you look at each place they've shot, they're main arteries into DC, and they're intending to inflict economic damage into DC first, because of the killings.

I agree with this. I've posted on another thread, these killings could be RECON gathering, so they know what to do in other states/cities.

Not in this case, however directly behind the only wooded area is I-95. The wooded area is on the northbound entrance ramp to I-95.

The terrorists did not "learn" anything from the press, or radio and television. The fact is they live in a world of their own making, using Arabic or Farsi, watching video tapes, reading ethnic newspapers, going to a mosque where the sermons are given in their own language, working at small shops owned by Middle-Eastern folks. They do not listen to WTOP nor do they read the WarshingtonPost. Most likely they haven't even heard of such critters as the New York Times!
This is consistent with the life led by the 19 AlQaida attackers who crashed planes into the WTC, the Pentagon and the ground. It's also consistent with the life led by the fellows who launched the anthrax attack.
Except for a couple of folks shot because of their potential to be a witness against them, they selected well-defined locations according to a few basic and readily observed standards.
I'd like to point to the taxicab driver for a moment. He was from India. He'd lived in the DC area for 30 years, most of the time driving a cab. He worked the Silver Spring area for many, many years, and if there was another cab driver working that area, he knew him personally!
He also knew all the regular delivery guys, and without a doubt, all the fellows who delivered produce, supplies and bread to the Middle Eastern restaurants throughout Montgomery County.
The FBI anti-cyberterrorism analyst may also fall into this category.
I am absolutely amazed that the press can continue to refer to these as "random shots" when two of them are exceedingly unlikely to have been "random" and all of the others, including the one at the wine store in mid-September, can all be related with only 3 criteria.

So , when will our government round them up, ship them out and seal our borders?I agree with you. This should have been the response to 9/11. Our borders are wide open and we are handing out visas like candy to anyone that wants to come to America. Total blatant irresponsibility on the behalf of our government officials.
What do you think Bush would do if he received notice that what happened in DC will happen in every town across America unless he does what they want? What kind of war will he be able to fight when the enemy is fully entrenched on American soil? Our government has no defense strategy.

If it turns out that the DC shootings have been perpetrated by foreign terrorists under instructions from abroad, there will IMHO be huge consequences. For immigration policy, for second-amendment considerations (as you alluded to), for political correctness, for the entire edifice of modern-day liberalism and the liberal "hive." The power of the UN, of the opinions of other countries (like the EU, for example) will be even more diminished in force than they are now.And which of these predicted outcomes would disturb the terrorist motivated by islamic fundamentalism, pray tell? Everything about the modern liberal and modern Liberal edifice is anathema to him.

If true, and I believe it is, this will devestate the libs who are hoping that it is a "white European male gun nut with militia connections".

" Ihave started to switch the TV to "Animal Planet" whenever the news programs bring on their "experts". Not a bad idea. Personally, I think our "experts" could learn a few things about dealing with "animals" by watching Crocodile Hunter."
To: mict42
"A nationally deputized armed citizenry" Well, in the scenario you describe that would be great but for the stealth nature of the snipers. What you may end up having is well-meaning citizens shooting at other well-meaning citizens who happen to be in the wrong place at the wrong time while the real sniper remains effectively invisible.

While it sounds good, I think it may be a bit of wishful thinking. The events of 9/11 and subsequently have only served to prove the extremes the liberals will go to in trying to eclipse those very real issues in favor of promoting their socialist agenda.

" I have the TV on with the sound muted" LOL! I am so glad to know that I am not the only one who does this!

"Since the s.o.b.s have targeted the schools according to some, I wonder if that was sabotage?" Whether it was or not, this along with so many other situations which have arisen, only serve to prove our vulnerabilites in an increasingly wide range of opportunity for those who would do us harm.
