One of the most unpredictable and confusing midterm election seasons in recent history is coming down to the wire. Within the past week, four respected national polls -- Gallup, Ipsos-Reid, Fox/Opinion Dynamics, and Pew Research Center -- all indicated that the American people were nearly evenly divided in their congressional voting preference.

But the movement has declined dramatically in recent years and has tried to remain relevant in the era of international terrorism by embracing Israel and demonizing Muslims.

Muslims are doing a fine job of that themselves.

Biased garbage like this is why I don't subscribe to a paper, and rarely watch anything but Fox.

Yep. I am also ignoring the gal at the beauty shop who doesn't vote because its too complicated, and I am ignoring the lazy people who won't get off their duffs to vote because its raining, and I am ignoring YOU if you sit this election out and don't vote.

Just because you can find a lot of foolish people following a poor strategy doesn't make you correct.

Sometimes I wonder if persecution is all that will wake Christians up to the desperate need for their presence in the political arena.

Right. More like "Religious right, please stay home".

When was the last time you saw an article about how the liberal left might stay home?

It seems to me that if they really are left-wing and knew the religious right wasn't going to vote, they'd keep quiet about it, not call attention to it. This sounds more like a call to arms.

I've never claimed to be "correct". I've only stated what I'm doing personally. Whether another considers my actions "correct" or not isn't that great a concern to me.
I have to live with myself, not the gal at the beauty shop, the lazy people, or you.
And as for strategy...I hope the Republicans have a sweeping success in all of the elections.
Then we can all see if anything gets done or if the government continues to grow and all of the ills of this nation continue unabated. Where will the blame get placed then? No "wascally Democwats" to blame...will it be "the People's" fault yet again?
I'll be waiting and watching, and I'll probably still be complaining, though hopefully not as often, despite having not voted. We'll see...
Ta-ta for now, Miss.

I have a Christian friend/sister who never votes. She's not even registered to vote. I call that a crime and I tell her if she can't vote, then she can't complain about who gets in either. I get fed up with some of the blasted excuses Christians (and others) use not to vote. It's a God-given privilege. Go to Iraq and see how you have to vote there! No choice, huh? Well, that's how it is in many other countries. WE have a choice. USE IT! or LOSE IT!

Early voting begins Oct 21st in Texas... I will be one of the first in line.. The biggest problem is getting people involved in a mid term election. They just don't think it's important enough to get out and work as well and vote.

I don't want to even hear someone call themselves Christian and then not vote. How can a christian turn away and allow Evil to run rampant? And there is no doubt that the RATS are evil to the core.

These so-called Christians screwed us in 1998 according to some.

I agree we need to get Christians out to vote but much of the blame for this falls squarely on the shoulders of the Christian leaders. Few are bold enough to speak to the importance of this election in terms of judges and for the pro life cause. Encourage your pastors to address this, to put pro family information out , etc.. This can all be accomplished without endorsing any specific candidate so don't let them tell you otherwise. Our church had pamphlets out weeks ago about the pro family stand of candidates for the upcoming election. More need to do the same ...talk to your pastors and encourage them...or perhaps its time to find another church with holy boldness!

When was the last time you saw an article about how the liberal left might stay home?

This article sounds like a liberal's wish list scenario for the 02 election. Don't buy it! Let it motivate you to participate in the get out the vote effort in your area. Talk to your on-the-fence friends. The liberals would destroy our nation if Conservatives are too busy to be active in politics.

My Rep. sends polite form letters in reply to my missives the same as he does you!
They may want for my vote, but they're getting yours!

Christians are to be salt and light. But, first you gotta get out of the salt shaker! We're told to not be part of the world, but that doesn't mean we withdraw from the world.
We engage the world with our ideas.....but the idea is to get out there.......we'll win some, we'll lose some...but the whole idea is to be "salt" and slow down the putrification that goes on around us....

Why are you mixing the spiritual with the secular/political? You do know the difference don't you?

Of course I know the difference - - but you realize the spiritual battle often manifests itself in the world, don't you. We're to pray.....we're to have a relationship with the Lord......but we're to "do", to "act" to be "salt"....otherwise, why does the Lord still keep us on this earth after we're saved?

In the past, the difference between Democrats and Republicans was on how they were to adminster policy. There was never attacks on Christian/moral values, children, families, like you see today.

But now, there are battle lines drawn - - bright lines of good and evil.....and woe be to us if we sit back and say this is a secular battle, and we needn't get our hands dirty.....

I usually vote third party only.

I tried the whole disillusioned protest vote thing (one time), but found that I was helping to elect liberals. Since I am a conservative who knows that liberals are ruining our country, I could not allow MY vote to contribute to that end. Try voting for the conservatives in your state. That would make a positive difference.

Why should the religious right care enough to vote for many Republicans? Bush and the Republicans can't even get a ban a partial-birth abortion to a vote.

Need the religious right? Then, the Bush and the Republicans better start doing something to earn their votes, rather than promoting homosexuality, allowing stem-cell research and taking no meaningful action to reduce abortion.

Take a look at the Senate make-up! Who controls it? Do you really think that Bush and the House can get a bill banning partial birth abortion through it?

To blame Bush and the Republicans for this is bullcrap. If you want to see who is to blame...and if you are a member of the Religious Right who didn't vote in the last election...LOOK IN THE MIRROR!
