I am glad I am not alone in my thinking. There was something just not right with him. I could not help but feel he was sneering at us with glee. It was like he was thinking, you people are such idiots. I am the sniper or I'm with the sniper...

#16 They are going to die mysteriously like some bad Oliver Stone movie. Are there any good ones? I must say that "Wall Street" doesn't look so hokie now that the justice dept. isn't a branch of the clinton legal defense team.

Choco ration being raised to 25 grammes.

"Instead of endless speculation, lets see if we can reason this out."I thought that is what we were trying to do here.
"Well, eyewitness accounts have proven to be wrong on numerous occasions"
That's a given that eyewitness accounts are often fraught with inaccuracies for a wide variety of reasons, but if anyone should be aware of that I would think that it would be LE. So that being true why did they release the composite of the white van unless they were sure that it was credible information? Would that not seem to be somewhat irresponsible on the part of LE.

Capt. Demme made a very strange statement yesterday about weapons being interchangeable, like vehicles.

Maybe the perp has been caught and the police can't announce his arrest because he won't be standing trial. He would be treated as a foreign combatant and would be dealt with by a secret military tribunal. Why keep it secret? It would be outstanding PR that they caught the guy. Otherwise, it just goes away and is chalked up to one more instance of police stupidity.
Balance that against, I assume a greater punishment for the perp if done in secret? That doesn't seem reasonable. Can they get more info from the perp if the whole thing is kept secret? THAT could be a prime concideration.

Well, suppose the witness gave a description of where the alleged vehicle and shooter was, but then analysis of the crime scene (ie. victim) showed that the bullet had come from a different direction? Absolutely. Now, why would the police not give us this info? We trust them more when they can produce facts and figures. Stands to reason that they would "prove" as much as they could to us. Unless, of course there is a better reason for keeping quiet.

The reson we are having a hard time "reasoning this out" is most likely we don't think like the person(s) doing this. It's hard to imagine cold, calculated assasination of innocent persons. I for one, thank God this type of action doesn't come "naturally" to me.

If the suspect is never "caught" but simply disappears instead, there is nobody to stand up and complain when he is being treated as part of a larger, imminent threat to the U.S.
Heck, maybe some of those guys in Guantanamo are BEGGING for the jumper cables.
Notice how there haven't been any anthrax letters in more than a year, and yet the FBI still insists that it has made no arrests, has no suspects, etc.

Capt. Demme made a very strange statement yesterday about weapons being interchangeable, like vehicles. I heard that too. It is obvious to me what's going on. The cops don't want to release the truth in hopes of nabbing the shooters. There isn't a UAV in the DC airspace for a lone nut.
The cops will only label those things credible that they release themselves, and they ain't releasing much.

Yup. And in the weeks and months leading up to 9/11, this @sshole and his entire agency were nowhere to be seen.

Maybe they have some security tape from Home Depot. This did take place in an area where they have cameras. There's all kinds of possibilities. Maybe the camera wasn't on the crime, but proves the witness wasn't where he said he was, or contradicts some details of the eyewitness account.
What about the husband? Isn't he a witness?

Possibly because they had to act fast to get the roadblocks in place. Better to go with the info they had because it might be right, might be partially right, or simply be wrong. 2 outta 3?

Maybe the government should issue residents vests and helmuts! Believe it or not, it is illegal for non-law enforcement people to wear bulletproof vests in Maryland.
Three of the victims (Ramos, Meyers, Franklin) were shot in the head, one (Charlot) in the neck, and the others in the torso.
To: Aggie Mama
That's precisely what I thought. Great minds? :)

If it is true that she was shot in the back of the head, then perhaps her husband could not have witnessed anything.

I for one, thank God this type of action doesn't come "naturally" to me. I made the first comment about reasoning this out. I didn't intend to offend anyone, we are generating a lot of questions and answers here. But we're coming at it from different angles and I'm having a hard time keeping track of what suppositions have been debunked.
We can't get into the motivation of the killer because obviously, that's beyond most of us here. But we can use reason to make predictions about what he/she will do next based upon probabilities. And we can deduce lots of things by the way the LEO's act and what they say.
