I find it hard to believe he'd escape in that manner (foot or bike). I'm saying, foot or bike to method of escape, not foot or bike the whole way.

I say that's his path to approach his sniper's nest in this shooting, but of course I ain't sure.

The media is a pack of jackals, but how much of the criticism is an attempt to cover up the lack of cooperation between jurisdictions? That is exactly what police sources said was going on behind the scenes while Moose was missing yesterday.

Very good points.

3) There is rampant in-fighting, disorganization and political pressure in this investigation, and the use of a "minority" police chief in a position of authority at least covers the politically-correct angle and keeps the press from bloodletting, as evidenced by the WP's kid glove treatment of Moose, even after he publicly bashed them in particular (they printed one critical piece, then let it drop; how interesting). Janet Reno said to the County Council, he would be good for the job.

Have they identified the witness that is not credible? So far as I know, there is a witness by the name of Robert Young who said, I got a good look at the guy and he was middle eastern. Is the Non-credible witness the one that said the shooter was white?

I bet those carrying the weapons are hand-picked for licensing OR were given the rifles as part of the "celebration."
I can't really believe that the populace at large is allowed to own any kind of firearms.
But if that woman is representative of Iraq, as a whole, we just might have to wipe out entire city blocks.

Yes, Dog, I think they've moved underground. I heard very clearly and paid strict attention to an interview on CNN on Tuesday with a reporterette who told the anchor that several police sources have confirmed to her that two vehicles matching the Astrovan and box truck descriptions were caught on videotape at a gas station Friday night minutes before that shooting. Videotape also captured an astrovan on videotape from Monday's shooting. She further explained that several witnesses were able to give partial descriptions of the suspect who did the shooting, described during this interview as Middle Eastern, partial license plates were observed, etc. It's never been further reported on CNN, presumably at the request of LEO. But, too late.
The perps know they have to go underground, while they change location, vehicles, alter appearance, etc. In addition, it hsould never have been publicized the feds were going to help with satellites and military planes. No way should an enemy know the tools of investigation. Come from a family with an LEO background and I rarely criticize them because I know how difficult that job is, but this case has been mishandled in a disgraceful way. I may be proven wrong and they could start up again tonight, but I just don't think so.

I echo each of those sentiments. :-) Even IF, and I say, IF, the population is pro-Saddam (they aren't), one very large thermobaric bomb that blows up a mountain right next to them -- doesn't harm anybody, even, mind you -- might have some serious psychological impact. Remember those lines of the "elite" guard surrendering by the thousands in Iraq in Desert Storm? :p

Young is the construction worker who said the van pulled into his lane and was the guy inside "flustrated" he was blocked. Said the guy looked like he wanted to get out a "duke" and was surprised when he just drove on.
Maybe he is the one being discredited but I can tell the difference between a cream van and a white one if hey are right next to me.
Maybe it's another witness. I don't remember Mr. Young saying anything about seeing the gun.

Wanted to say I agree in general the LE bashing is unfair, and not on target...this one's a toughie cuz they got all kinds of agencies trampling over each other, they have no evidence, no witnesses...TREMENDOUS media and public pressure...I feel bad for Moose, I really do.

Not only does such behavior look pretty dangerous to me, but it makes me wonder about just how "oppressed" the Iraqi people can be. If all those citizens own guns -- and they're free to carry & use them as openly as they seem to be -- I don't think anyone is going to oppress them. It seems to me that they must be following Saddam because they want to, not because they're afraid of him...Well, there's the fact that Saddam has a lock on the information these people get. If we think the media are bad here for parroting the liberal line, over there is infinitely worse.
The other thing is that it only took between 10 and 30% of the colonies' population to successfully pull off the American War for Independence. I'm surprised that the Kurds, at least, hadn't managed to throw off Saddam's yoke.

Thanks valleygal I concur on all points... but it just seems that one discredited witness is just that, one discredited witness. In fact maybe now, there is no discrepancy between the witnesses.
You don't think Moose would try to use this as a way to get out of publishing a composite or a partial description, do you?

Just curious. Are there crypto-liberals and crypto-islamists as well as crypto-racists.
Below is a crypto-tomkat.
To: OReilly
Maybe because so much info got out, that LE didn't really want out, they are saying the witness is dis-credited to fool the shooter into thinking they have no info to go on??
