It's ironic: the generally accepted views may be completely upside-down.

The government and media are starting to suggest that the sniper is a Middle Eastern terrorist, but it's quite possible that he's a domestic nut. On the other hand, the anthrax mailer is generally thought to have been a domestic nut, but he was very likely a Middle Eastern terrorist.

This shouldn't be interpreted as an opinion on the sniper; there isn't enough evidence yet in my view even to reach a tentative conclusion as to whether it's a domestic nut or a foreign terrorist.

I have felt almost from the beginning that this whole 'sniper' event is a calculated muslim mind job on the capital. Too many coincidences with the timing -- the other terrorist attacks around the world, the tapes released by Zawahiri and supposedly, Bin Laden, and finally, the remark by Ari Fleisher that 'one bullet' could take care of Saddam ... add in the fact that this is not like any other typical nut job on a killing spree or serial killer episode, and there is enought there to strongly lean one towards the ME/muslim terrorist angle ...

But maybe that is just what this middle-aged, white guy, NRA member, loser want us to think.

BTW, there were several deadly accurate sniper shootings in Israel among other things. Might be graduates of the same training camp

The most serious argument is that the sniper has an accomplice. Everybody agrees that this is a madman or a terrorist. Well, madmen are rarely accompanied by helpers/drivers when going on a rampage

From a practical standpoint, it does not matter whether this is a mideast terrorist. The way it has intimidated the Washington area, any foreign terrorist leader will realize that a half dozen teams could shut down most of the commerce in the United States.

In my opinion, this is a team, that is studying the effectiveness of this style of attacks. It has the advantage of terrorizing the public and saving the attacker to attack again. This is far more efficient than the suicide bomber that kills himself along with his victims in a bombing.

Because both the government and press are made up of activists whose only concern is PR and furthering their own agenda. They take polls and monitor sites like FR and will only come out with any semblance of truth when it is clear that their coverups aren't working.
