Cleric Demands Death for Christian Leaders

A high-ranking Iranian Muslim cleric has called for the death of three U.S. Christian leaders for insulting the prophet Muhammad. An Abrar, Iran newspaper reported that last Friday during a prayer sermon, Ayatollah Mohsen Mujtahed Shabestari called for the killing of Baptist preacher Jerry Falwell, evangelist Franklin Graham and Christian Coalition founder Pat Robertson.

"U.S. leaders want to repeat the crusades," Shabestari reportedly said, only referring to the three as "the Israeli mercenaries" who needed to be "separated from other Christians." Meanwhile according to "The Washington Post," experts believe a recent series of disparaging remarks about Islam by Falwell, Graham and Robertson have sparked riots in India, helped religious parties win elections in Pakistan and undermined public sympathy in Islamic countries for the U.S. war on terrorism

Falwell recently apologized for calling Muhammad, the founder of Islam, a "terrorist" during a "60 Minutes" broadcast last month. But according to academic specialists, the damage has been done. "Jerry Falwell makes a statement, he pleases his constituents, then he says he's sorry and apparently thinks that's the end of it," said Akbar Ahmed, chairman of Islamic studies at American University, the "Post" reported. "What Americans don't realize is that remarks like this are flashed all over the Muslim world, and they are doing very serious damage to U.S. interests."

The DOJ should start a new list. One that contains all of the names of these clerics who are involved in a conspiracy to commit murder.

Eeesh...What went through my 50 year old brain when I read this = Touch a hair on Franklin Graham's head and I will personally come over there and rip your still beating heart out of your chest and eat it in front of your horrified eyes.

I think I need to stick to decaf in the afternoon.

Islam is not peaceful, and neither is Christianity

Christian leaders aren't asking for the heads of Islamics who disagree with their belief system. All kinds of blasphemous literature and movies have been made about Christ and no Christian has pronounced a Fatwa on the makers. Mo the "prophet" was a murderer, thief, and rapist. He's imparted the same violence to his followers.

I could care less how the Religion Of Peace receives our criticism. Let them blow up more nightclubs like in Bali... and for the record, I don't believe anything Falwell, Graham, and Robertson have said that has contributed to the fanaticism sweeping the Muslim world. After all, its Muslim clerics that are threatening Christians with death merely for having the temerity to question less savory aspects of their religion. So who are the folks who are intolerant and hateful? As for the so-called "experts" these are the same people who never saw 9-11 coming and who refuse to face up to the fact its Islam that threatens the freedom and security of the Western World.

Who's calling it a religion of peace, anyway? It doesn't necessarily seem to be the Muslims themselves, or does it?

Islam is not peaceful, and neither is Christianity. I say we kill all of them before they kill all of us. Just like God told Saul to do:

Moron.

"U.S. leaders want to repeat the crusades," Shabestari reportedly said...

Say... am I wrong or didn't the Muslims launch a crusade from the East, conquering the Holy Land that was inhabited by the Jews and many Christians, killing many and driving more out in a orgy of rape and murder?

Isn't the Dome of the Rock built on the site of the Jew's demolished TEMPLE that was taken by Muslim forces?

It was Islamicists who started this 'crusade' business in the first place.

Isn't it Islamicists that are still waging a relentless crusade to kill Americans, Christians, Jews, educated women, Brits, Aussies, etc.?

Shabestari: Why do you seek to remove the splinter in your brother's eye when you have a log in your own?

Shabestari, we have this document called the Constitution, and in it there are diffrent sections. Now not to talk over your head, because I know it's a strain for you to think out side the box, we have this little thing in the Constitution called ahhhh, what is it, oh yes, FREEDOM OF SPEECH! How about that. I hope this clears things up for you.

"The LORD is a jealous God and avenging, the LORD is avenging and wrathful; the LORD takes vengeance on his adversaries and keeps wrath for his enemies." Nahum 1:2

"Do not avenge yourselves...for it is written, 'Vengeance is Mine, I will repay, says the Lord." (Romans 12:19).

I believe in self-defence and retributive justice as well. But that's quite unlike the behaviour evinced by Islamics and such behaviour as noted in the above article.

It is worth noting that the crusades of a thousand years ago were also forced upon the Christain West.

What is now the nation of Islam was once nearly all Christain (and western), Islam was spread by the sword and stopped by the sword.

"Christian leaders aren't asking for the heads of Islamics who disagree with their belief system." ... Well, I think they should be.

Paraphrasing (roughly) from Matthew 28, Jesus says "everything you saw me doing while I was here, now go and do the same". I sort of forgot the part of the Bible where Jesus killed the all the infidels.

"The LORD is a jealous God and avenging, the LORD is avenging and wrathful; the LORD takes vengeance on his adversaries and keeps wrath for his enemies." Nahum 1:2

This is coming, but not yet and it is not for us to decide when.

Of course you're right. The First Crusade didn't happen until over 400 years after the Muslims had Jihaded from the Hindu Cush to Spain and in the process slowly destroying Christianity in North Africa and Eastern Christianity generally. It was the Byzantines which called for the help from Pope Urban to stop the marauding Seljuk Islamics who were heading on a Jihad towards Constantinople.
