Shepard Smith on Fox News just confirmed that anti-gun MD Gov. Paris Glendening has, by executive order, made illegal ANY discharge of a projectile weapon in four (4) counties around Washington DC.

This ban also includes bow/arrow and muzzloading hunting that are about to come into season, and all practice and recreational shooting.

If the citizens of the People's Republic of Maryland are
stupid enough to vote for Kennedy Townsend, that socialist
state will be finished even further.

"Er, cake... I think you did something I do now and then"

Indeed I did...I misunderstood TbV's post about bowhunting for sure...TbV...My sincere apologies for thinking you wanted to ban bow hunting along with firearm hunting.

"We have to shoot the sniper with something after all. I sure don't want to use a sling shot on him. I guess a bow will do.... =]"

LOL...like I said to Mo...there are messier but non-projectile methods the extremely brave of heart could use.

Every person that owns a gun in these 4 counties should fire a shot into the air, every hour, on the hour.

"No joke here in Southern Virginia. The laws were so tight, we were overrun with deer for some time. People kept having collisions with them on the road. A lot of people would die if they weren't thinned out."

One night, as I was driving the back roads home from the (now burnt) bar I managed in Wachapreague VA in a Chevy Chevette, I encountered a buck...I slowed down...he faced the car...pawed the ground like a bull about to charge...and charged.

I managed to avoid him, by playing a (in retrospect) game of vehicular bullfighter. He passed close enough to me (low beams on...fog) that I couls clearly see that he had only one antler, and 4 points on the remaining one.

I worked there for several years before moving to PA, and there are other, similar stories I could tell...and the FERAL DOGS!! HOW ABOUT THOSE FERAL DOGS??

Anyhow, deer are definitely a danger to moterists in VA.

In order to stop this terrorism, it would be useful
to have a 30-30 handy as you go about doing your
everyday business so that if you should encounter
these terrorists, you could do something about it!
Is it illegal to carry a rifle in these counties?

How many guns are fired during hunting season?

Didn't realize that hunting was allowed in the downtown area. I would have thought that such activity would have at least been miles and miles outside of the urban areas. Since You seem to have a handle on this problem, I salute you for your astute insight.

Thank God the Gov acted when he did, no telling how many more people would have gotten shot. Since he has successfully ended the slaughter, all that is left is finding the killer which should be quite easy. All the gov has to do is interview all the individuals which were actively hunting on the days of the shooting, eliminate them from the scenario and then focus on those hunters with licenses who weren't hunting but may have been in the downtown areas!

Trust but Verify, you are a sheer genius!!!!!!!

"I can just picture it now..... Opening day of deer season and not a single one to be found. They are all crammed into the Home Depot parking lot in Rockville Maryland"

ROFLOL...or local Texaco station or parking lots of Michael's stores, or the sidewalks in front of middle schools, or in the lawns of auto dealerships next to local malls...

"Fox just mentioned this again at their top of the hour news."

Scary. I still haven't found written confirmation, but that really doesn't mean anything with today's dod-eat-dog media tactics. Fox could just have the jump.

Uh...hunters entering safe areas of wood, as opposed to those which do not abut gas stations and parking lots are not within the extremely thin profile of the killer...

I don't even disagree, really with the critics who say this is unlikely to be helpful.... I disagree with the tone of the "sky is falling" posts, and with those who are automatically assuming that people shooting in self defense, or even catching our sniper, are now headed for the slammer! - "We are all criminals now! - Panic and mayhem on the streets I cant defend myself now!" That is what I disagree with. I think everyone should sit down is all.

Granted, I am not familiar with what the carry statute WAS in these counties, as I am all the way on the other side of the country, in a concealed carry permitting state...

I highly doubt that self-defense has been outlawed by executive order, or for that matter, shooting to prevent another sniper murder. If self-defense is now against the law in those four counties I will eat my mousepad.

Until then, we are all lookin like chicken little.

Sorry to be contradictory, but this Gov is a complete A$$ . . . he was before this stunt.

Agreed...BUT...can anyone tell me what happened to the Maryland statute that said you could have your neighbor arrested if the cigarette smoke from their home, even if closed up and 100 yards away, "bothered" you?

Was it killed in the State Congress or what?

But they won't hand over their files to FBI until they get paid. FOX stated that Maryland won't share info until reimbursed by the feds.
