More like this please (school kids attack PETA goons!)

MORE LIKE THIS, PLEASE:

Sean Gifford of PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) and an unidentified man in a cow-suit had planned a peaceful protest at the gates of the Grammar School to let pupils know about the claimed hazards in milk.

But they had to be rescued by two female police officers when the teenage pupils launched a violent protest of their own.

About 100 children, shouting "milk for the masses" and carrying banners, surrounded Mr Gifford and his "cow" partner and drenched them both in milk for about ten minutes. The police eventually intervened and escorted the PETA members back to their car.

No baby under 1 year should get cow's milk. It's terrible for their GI tract. For older toddlers and children, organic milk is available just about everywhere now. It tastes much better than the regular stuff, and is processed w/o hormones, antibiotics, etc. It's worth the 50 cents more that I pay for it. It really does taste better.

You'd think they'd get all of that they wanted at work...

Sungirl, you have to take into account all those "enriched" foods like bread, cereal, peanut butter etc. Blaming milk as the only culprit is like blaming smoking alone on lung cancer when there are literally hundred’s of variables in our homes, offices and schools that when combined with any chemical floating around can harm us. All things in moderation.

"...How do you make a hormone? ... Pinch her teet!..."

As you say, in a measured, Teutonic accent...

"You see mein Libchen, how the pain purifies?"

one other thing... regarding that "notmilk" site -- the Iceman's cholesterol was very likely caused by his high grain consumption -- his stomach contained grain, not cheese -- and the idea that he was a shepherd is pure speculation. Why is grain bad? Hyperinsulinemia from excess carbs, screws up the fat metabolism -- i don't have time to type it all, research it yourself as it is well documented now.

As for arthritis - it's an autoimmune disease which has multiple possible triggers and is known to exist in older non-human animals. Oh, and by the way, his estimated age at death is 40, not 25. These notmilk folks are skewing the facts a bit.

Of course, raw milk is unavailable in most states

Hmmm? Have they banned possession of cows?

I get my milk out of my goats. But, I don't drink it "raw"; I always pasteurize it, as it would be silly to do otherwise. There's some nasty stuff that can live in unpasteurized milk, like brucellosis. Yeah, my goats are healthy, but I can't do daily cultures.

To me its just extra fat calories. I do, however, indulge in nonfat ice milk.

Most of the nutrients are in the fat. :-)

Wow! I've also heard that chicken is a source of xenoestrogens. I think people are just now becoming aware of the foreign hormones that are in the food chain. I have a feeling that 20 years from now, a lot of our reproductive-related cancers are going to be linked to artificial hormones.

There seems to be a growing industry of farms that produce livestock free of hormones and excessive antibiotics. It's capitalism at it's finest. There are people out there like me willing to pay $2 - $5 dollars more at the grocery for the product.

"Vegetarian"

Isn't that an old Indian word meaning
"Lousy hunter"?

Yes, it's called suburban zoning laws. So, if state or local law forbids the sale of raw milk, it is simply not available to the average landless person. We had a heck of a battle here in LA to keep the right to buy raw milk.

The only thing better would have been if they had dumped used milk on the PETdiots.

You mean maybe straining it through your kidneys first?
