HMedia circus: Geraldo Rivera autographs Hooters waitresses' backsides mere yards from sniper site.

The Free Lance-Star
Geraldo Rivera has a knack for getting to the bottom of a story.
The larger-than-life Fox News reporter swooped into Fredericksburg and spent the weekend to file reports following Friday's sniper shooting at the Four-Mile Fork Exxon.
He arrived at the scene at midday Friday, strutting around in a black leather jacket and blue jeans.
By 6 p.m. on the day of the shooting, Rivera was autographing the seats of Fredericksburg Hooters waitresses' skimpy orange shorts--while the women were in them.
The Hooters restaurant is located only about 50 yards away from the crime scene.
"He was posing for pictures with the Hooters Girls and signing their [rear ends]," said Geoff Leach, a Caroline County resident who was at the restaurant late Friday afternoon.
"I thought it was pretty tasteless, considering the timing and the proximity to the scene of the killing," Leach said. "It was a circus atmosphere."
...
Rivera declined to talk directly to a reporter, but relayed a comment through Zimmerman.
"He said he was honoring the requests of his adoring fans," Zimmerman said.

"...The minute I saw that Geraldo invaded my town, and was right next door to the Hooters, I knew that trouble was brewing..." LOL!
He didn't rape any of the Hooterettes he butt-fondled (or, at least he wasn't accused of it)...
A wise man will call that a victory and move on!

I heard that Lakely guy with your paper was signing autographs right next to Geraldo.
Just kidding - caught one of your threads Friday. :)

The reporter who wrote this story (a good friend of mine) said when he contacted Fox News, several people told him off the record, that he is very disliked at FNC -- no matter what they might say on the air.

Rogers Ailes has decided it's entertainment rather than information. It's his network, he can ruin it if he wants to!!!!!
To: seamus
I sure hope so. I waited a very long time for my cable company to supply FNC. A month after they did, "Geraldo The Fake" was hired. They are trying to force feed us this "Fake". Doesn't work for me, no way! It's all about "Jerry Rivers". I replied to a thread when he was caught up in the "fog of war". "I'd bet he would do some strange things to a camel, if they would let him interview Osama." He is just that low.....! Come on FNC, get with the program. Send him to where ever you sent his other buddy, Diane Dimond. He won't be missed.

You gotta love their wings though.

You gotta love their wings though. I'm a breast and leg man myself.

Yes he is a scumbag and I don't particularly like him. But I would'nt mind the job of signing the Hooters girls rumps.

We were just saying the other day, that perhaps Geraldo had finally found a nitch. He seemed to be doing a pretty decent job when he was taking risks and reporting from Afgahnistan etc.
But this is "typical" Geraldo. He is sooooo National Enquirer. Sheesh!! Glad we hadn't cemented our new found respect for him in concrete!
What he just did was the most stupid and tasteless thing I've read in a long time. The word "TACKY" is mildly put.
People are just waiting for ANYONE from FOXNews to mess up.. figures it would be Geraldo who came to the rescue!!! Perhaps it is all part of a grand scheme? Maybe he is double dipping on his paychecks.. hmmmmmm

Geraldo does his bit for Fox News. Other people report the news. He does the clown act.
You have to give Murdoch credit. He is the only conservative-leaning media mogul out there. But if he always showed "good taste" and prissy behavior, his circulation would plunge and he wouldn't have the bucks to pay Roger Ailes and Brit Hume with.
Frankly, I'd rather have Geraldo as the designated leftist for "balance" than some boring ideologue or ex-clintonoid spinner like Stephanopolis or Carville.
Murdoch always ran an underdressed babe on page 3 of his English tabloids. That was what it took to sell readers on a yellow tabloid with conservative leanings. So be it.

Let me see if I have this right: Geraldo was out of line socializing with the scantily-clad waitresses at a Hooters 50 yards from a murder scene but there's nothing wrong with the guy complaining about it who, unless I'm missing something, found it okay to also be in the company of scantily-clad Hooters girls a mere 50 yards from a murder scene.
Methinks the real offense taken by this gentleman was in not being the center of said girl's attention to the same degree. "Hey jealousy..."
To: soozla
Look, Geraldo will be Geraldo. To get mad at him now makes no sense. Fox new what they were getting before they hired him. It's like that story of the guy who marries the stripper and shortly after expects her to act like a church girl and then gets POd when she acts like a whore. I find Geraldo funny in a Carny kinda way. Inappropriateness is his signature.

No kidding. This guy has some luck. Dodging bullets in Tora Bora. Avoiding the sniper's scope in Virginia.....and living to sign the butts of babes.
What a charmed life!
