Thanks for the post.

Diaz indirectly accused firearms manufacturers of contributing to the shootings in the Washington, D.C. area.

"It is clear, the gun industry stands ready to arm and train anyone with the fantasy of being a real life sniper," he claimed. "Tragically, the nation is now witnessing the horror of that potential realized."

And Mr. Diaz begins his dancing in blood routine, repeated after any sensational firearms-related incident. I don't believe anyone takes his accusations seriously. Other than the usual suspects, no politician is going to take this on the road - assuming they want to be re-elected.

The unfortunate consequence of this killer is the tainting of all shooters as "sniper wannabees". This will bring further gun bans that may send this country into civil war.

I guess Conyers will be attacking Boeing next for marketing wide-bodies to Al-Qaida.

Advertising must be truthful and non-deceptive.

Oh, if only the same were true of political speech. Conyers' is an absolutely classic case of deception, deliberate misrepresentation, and not-so-subtle misdirection of the uninitiated. This little gem, for example:

"Nine innocent people have been killed or injured by a serial killer who is using the technology of sniper rifles."

Not "using sniper rifles," or "using the rifles I'm talking about," but "using the technology of sniper rifles." This can mean anything, which is precisely why a weasel like Conyers couched it in those terms. It's a classic bait-and-switch operation - Conyers (and Waxman of California) are using a maniac with a .223 that may not even be a rifle to garner support for prohibition of .50 BMG monsters that, of all weapons, are certainly NOT the ones being used to kill people in D.C. This is such a blatant lie that even the media are skeptical - not that it prevents them from repeating it.

U.S. civilians are only allowed to possess fully automatic weapons in any caliber with a special $200 "stamp" or license

Amazing how automatically they demagogue this loony shooter into a machinegun wielding sniper.

ranking Democrat on the House Judiciary Committee has accused some gun manufacturers of marketing so-called "sniper rifles" in a manner that "appears to intentionally appeal to law breakers."

Oh, SURE, I remeber those ads now...
they had the cute blondes fawning over the burly Marlboro Man figure (complete with cowboy hat), as he stand over the bodies of schoolchildren that he recently bagged...
patriotic music crescendoes as he lifts up the weapon and looks through the scope at the camera lens...
NRA reps are throwing bundles of money at him...
GWB is shown shaking his hand and giving him a commemorative plaque...
derisive and superior/mocking laughter emanents from the background...

Now what was that tagline they used? Ah, yes, there were different ones for different markets:
"Killing... it's not just for New York muggers anymore!"
"Man... the other white meat."
"If they never see you, you'll never get caught."
and the most popular, "Got Liberals?"

Watch "Bambi-killers" and "Starve Your Grandparents to Increase Your Personal Wealth" on Sunday mornings, and I'm sure you'll see them, too.

Mr. Conyers obviously is suffering from dementia let us show him some compassion. I must be a suspect I own a Weatherby Accumark in the much demonized .308 with one of those high tech aiming devices (Leupold 3.5-10). Of course millions of Americans will be bearing the same since it is hunting season so this will give Moose-butt some more suspects to arrest.

Between the time Conyers' staff issued a press advisory about the congressman's news conference and the time Conyers actually appeared he had changed some of the language in his allegations.

"I am here today to solicit the FTC's [Federal Trade Commission] help in bringing an end to a practice that has become far too common in our communities, the mass marketing of military style rifles to civilians," he said.

John Conyers - DemonRAT - member of the Congressional Progressive Caucus - need we know anything more - these traitors just want to disarm all of us so they can have all the power!!!! Bastards - all of them!!!!!!

Rep. John Conyers (D-Mich.) is one of the most ignorant and racist SOBs in the world. His word means nothing to anyone.
