Hi, Valerie - have missed seeing your beautiful photographs the last few days - good to have you back again.

I had one lilypad in our little goldfish pond in the courtyard once, but it never looked this pretty! One by one the pads died, and I took the whole thing out and threw it away. Plus we had a dog that thought the goldfish were there JUST for her to play with, and then they all died of heart attacks I think after trying to stay out of the way of her big feet!

Congratulations Dutchess! I enjoyed reading about you and your liberal relatives today, can really empathise with you on that.
It was fun watching you sneak in here and post while you were away a few times during the last few months, you always express yourself so eloquently.

The poor little guy just stares out the window. When I let him out he stops short of going "under the fence"...it's so cute, they have a fenced in yard and dug a little hole for Giz to go through! They actually shovel the snow out in the winter and when it's really bad Mr. D. shovels a walk for him on our side. (We're on a small hill and it's great when it's icy. Giz gets so excited about visiting that he'll run out of the house, hit the path and slides about 20 yards on his belly right through the fence!...

Good morning Billie! Yes the wave site is still down, I hope the Artists aren't being stingy with their music.

My Mom is doing really well, there will still be a few days that I will need to go and help out in the near future.

That is so sweet. We have some friends who have several dogs (all from the shelter), and in addition to their own 5 or 6, their next door neighbor has one that is their playmate. They actually have a doggie door built into the fence between their yards, so that they can come and go and play together.

So, were you married when you were, like, four years old? Or is that measured in dog years (in keeping with your canine-derived screen name)? :-)

My real job is the director of a notforprofit organization that promotes selfsufficiency.

*L* I cheat with flowers. I don't grow them, I just photograph them. I found that pretty lily pad pond at the local arboretum. Let's cross our fingers and hope for the plants' sake that I wasn't close enough to actually harm them with my wilted leaf karma when I took the picture. I do not have a green thumb.

Thanks for doing the graphics for the challange and posting the pictures again today. I just love to show off "the kids". I still can't believe we lost all power to a storm the night of the Pet-a-thon. I had just got myself settled in for a fun Friday night and out it goes! It was fun looking at all the freeperpets the next day though.

BTW, you, lodwick, mo1 etc. did a WONDERFUL job manning the freeperthon...DID YOU EVER SLEEP?????
