CNN Headline News is reporting that a woman has been shot near a Home Depot in Falls Church, VA, and that authorities are investigating whether this is another sniper attack.
Breaking now....

Why are the Law Enforcement Officers being so PC.
They want the shooter to be a right wing white male gun nut former or wannabe sniper.
They have totally excluded AQ terrorists.
Try a google search on ( "Northern Virginia" & mosque) and see all the hiding places.
I believe the days of the week the terror occurs is also a clue.
Saint Michael is noted in Islam as consigning the Devil to Hell.
The talking heads on TV have been accomplice to the AQ by suggesting new targets.
OBTW
Where is Homeland Security ????
Let's pray for Wisdom on the part of our elected officials.

An example of the characteristics of such a .223 round can be found at handgunhunt.com:
"Over the long haul, the 40gr. Nosler Ballistic Tip with Blue Dot Powder is my hands down favorite for the 10" .223 Contender. This load is quite accurate, and as can be seen, only gives up a little velocity to the IMR-4198 Load. This load is so mild to shoot, while still offering excellent performance in the 10" barreled .223 Handguns it is hard to imagine. What has endeared me to the 40gr. Nosler Ballistic Tip / Blue Dot load is the mild report, almost nonexistent recoil, and the fact that it does not heat up the barrel as quickly as other loads do. This is extremely important to the Varmint Hunter sitting in the midst of a Prairie Dog Town, or for that matter, a heavily populated Flicker Tail Gopher patch."
Such a pistol is quite concealble and potentially "in-your-face" when compared to an AR-15 longgun and would be a good choice for the goblin sniper(s) in question........
Please feel free to ping anyone else you recall participating in that discussion.
I wonder if the wedge pattern they just recently spoke of on Fox was the 123,456,789,10 11 12 theory of mine.
I said several days ago that this pattern existed. I spoke of the three beltways as well.
Washington D.C. - Richmond - Hampton
All three beltways cause a similar wedge the news I and just spoke of. He might live there or have two different addresses he goes to. One in Fairfax and one (maybe relative) in Hampton Beltway. I would post a map of each beltway connected with a line but I don't have time to find a place to post the graphic. If anyone that can help I would appreciate if you posted a link to a good server to load my images to (for free) so I can post them.
The three beltway wedge looks just like the geometrical wedge Fox spoke of.
For all those that said 123 what? dot dot dot what? I hope you heard Fox's report. If not it will probably come up in the news briefing.
Terror.
I take it you AGREE that Vince Foster committed suicide, then? She must have told him the truth...
If Vince Foster committed suicide, it was solely for the purpose of trying to get rid of the thought of a naked Hillary in his head. Heck, I know *I* wouldn't be able to take it. ;-)
Now, "Glam Chelsea", maybe... :p Well, no, actually, she still looks entirely too much like she should be heading for a trough of some sort. Hehe.

Yeah, I would say it is the case. You NEED to be frightened? Well, there's always a large group of people that needs to be frightened about something, and there's always something to be frightened about. I'm just saying, you're just about as likely -- more likely -- to be die in a regular car accident than be mowed down by this guy. I'm not saying you need to go pump your gas in an open field, I'm trying to argue that being NEEDLESSLY paranoid (read: I don't consider being aware of your surroundings paranoid) is detrimental to your health and the overall health of the country. There's ALWAYS something to worry about. Asteroid from the NEAR hitting the earth. That's more statistically likely. How come you aren't worried nuts about that? :-)
A realist would suggest that your chances of getting hit are so slim that yes, there really is no need to be frightened. Unless you really NEED it yourself, for some psychological reason -- I'd like to think Americans are cast in a different mold.
We were just as likely to be attacked by Saddam and his weapons during the Gulf War and we did nothing. Why are we waiting until now. If you want to blame that on Clinton, try again.
You know, it'd help if you put question marks after your questions. :-) Sure, it was just as likely we'd be attacked, and WE WEREN'T. I heard all the end-of-the-world crud with Iraq one time over; I remember the mass surrenders. Furthermore, I can't exactly change war policy in any direction, so again, why take time out of my day *needlessly* worrying about this? Debating is entirely different; *that* I do for fun. I don't get frightened for fun.
It is apparent our leaders cannot or in many cases will not, protect us. It is up to us, whether it be from ME, local nut jobs, or illegals that have invaded.
Or Mexicans stealing our jobs, or MX missiles, or the Cuban Missile Crisis, or the riots in the '60s, or Malthus' prediction that we'd be overpopulated by 1970, or the other predictions saying we'd be out of fossil fuels by 1960, or...the world has never been short of nay-sayers, pessimists, and scaredy-cats (I'm not calling you one, here, I just want Americans to stand up, grow balls/ovaries, and ACT LIKE AMERICANS, and AMERICAN'S AIN'T SCARED).

P.S. "And yet it moves." ;-)
Please, although my post was on a sniper thread, getting my license to carry, has very little to do with a sniper. It was really just a comment on the general direction of the country. I don't know what your part of the country is like, or was like, but I do know mine has changed and changed drastically, and certainly getting worse. It is a general thing.
Paranoia is an unreal fear. Anyone who is not afraid today, is just not smart. Now how you deal with that fear is another thing. Everyone has to do what they feel is best. I am not living in their skin, so I won't presume to tell them how to live.
No, I don't try to do anything about the war situation. It is completely out of our hands. My point, we have been in just as much, if not more, jeopardy from Saddam 10 years ago, and we are just now going after him. Is that paranoia??? (Just thought I would catch up, sorry.)
As for the Mexicans, just wait until they come to your neighborhood or better yet, your pocketbook. If you are not angry about them yet, you haven't received your bill.
I will most assuredly cop to being a scaredy-cat - just not paranoid. This American is scared or maybe I should say very concerned over many things. But if I am going to stand up, just think I might like to have a gun in my purse. By the way, don't know if I posted to you or not, but I have carried a gun before. I used to carry a gun in my purse all the time, this is over 30 years ago. This is Texas, please, carrying a gun is not unusual - getting a permit is.
