Thanks ToL for the explanation.

My charts tell me that a 45 ACP will only have 300 foot/pounds of energy at 100 yards vs. the 223's 800 foot pounds at the same distance.

I might be wrong, but I think that Michael was late for a meeting with Isiah because he was locked in battle with the guardian angel of Babylon. I'll look the verse up, if you like.Babylon? (All roads lead to Iraq somehow....) Curiouser and curiouser. If you have time to look it up, that would be great!

I love Ted Williams too! I particularly enjoy his pronunciation, took some getting used to but he's grown on me. I've taken to using his version of the word "disgruntled" which is disgrumbled. And he also says shootin' for "shooting" which seems somehow appropriate. I get a kick out of him. After 9/11 he was saying Alf Queda instead of Al-Qaida.

I'm not seeing a F'fax Woods Way on my F'fax Co. map - though it's not a 2002 map. The only listing I'm getting on Mapquest for Seven Oaks is in Montgomery County, MD.

Like I mentioned above, the military originally used a 62 grain bullet with a barrel that had a 1:9 twist in their M-16 and derivative rifles. That was changed a few years back to a 55gr bullet with a 1:12 twistReverse that statement and you would be correct.

Michael (Hebrew, "who is like God?"), called Saint Michael in the Christian churches, one of the seven archangels (see Archangel) in Judaism, Christianity, and Islam, presumed to be leader of the angels (see Daniel 10:13, 21; 12:1) and guardian angel of Israel. According to the pseudepigraphic Book of Enoch, Michael and his command of faithful troops defeated the rebellious archangel Lucifer and his followers, casting them into Hell. In the Talmud, his relationship to the other angels is compared with that on earth of the high priest to Israel; thus, he is considered the immediate lawgiver to the prophet Moses on Sinai (see Acts 7:38). Michael has been known as the patron of the sick and of grocers, sailors, and soldiers; he is also the patron saint of Germany. In art he appears holding scales or a banner and flourishing a sword against a dragon. Beginning in 1970 Michael's feast day was combined with that of the archangels ...

Unless, heaven forbid, they are working in tandem.

As far as military .223 goes, this is pretty accurate. I'd have to read it closer to verify the rest.

For the life of me, I can't see how he could have defended his dissertation. Well, then you'll be amazed to learn as I just did that Moose also has a doctorate!
To: relee
That's what I said.

At 150 yards, with the bullet drop inherent in the 223, he's a good shot.

security cameras - there will be some evidence on it They better - we're about one shooting away from Martial Law

I like Ted, too. He's so down-to-earth. And I love the word "disgrumbled". I think FReepers should add it to their vocabulary.

I was also baffled by the number of shootings that occured at Civil War battle sites. Maybe it is just a coincidence but that caught my attention.

Michaels smells weird and all of those artificial flowers and fake knick knacks and loads of crap you wouldn't believe people would spend good money on, I don't know, It just give me the willies. I saw some really ratty old wooden artillery round cases in one about 10 years ago. Wife has since upscaled from there, alhtough I did buy a model rocket for younger daughter's science project from there. They also have aircraft and car models.

"..it's a scoped bolt-action rifle.."
That's been my guess all along. Could explain why he's only taken one shot per incident. Lot's of heavy barreled bolt actions being chambered for the 223 these days.

Alf Queda LOL! I missed that. Cute, he really has grown on me.

Also, they are suggesting that people wear dark colors, and walk in dark shadows. Boy, purse snatchers and car jackers will LOVE that.. They're being told to do the opposite of what they have been trained to do to prevent crime. Mind boggling.
Yes, but this is war, not crime prevention! Whether you believe it's AQ or a domestic nut, the affected area is at war and needs to take wartime precautions.
