Fox reporting that now people on the roads are running out of gas, after idling in traffic for 3 hours, complicating things even more.

"Is Seven Corners Ctr the same as Fairfax Woods Way?"

Does anyone know? If it is the same street and the name of the person I think did it lives on that same street then I'm gonna...I have no clue but I'd just die I think.

CNN is now talking about the report of an olive skin male. That seems to be what the media is getting, I'm not sure where drudge is getting his info though.

The thing is no matter what the most glaringly obvious things just aren't being brought up.

Skills like this aren't natural. Someone has to at least read or study Escape and Evasion techniques as well as sniper tactics to do this well.

Someone...SOMEONE has to know they have a friend who has this skill. It's not like there's a thousand guys out there who studied sniper tactics and went to a shooting range in the middle of the night so as to keep it a secret.

Somewhere out there someone has to at the very least be suspicious.

Now we should ask ourselves why no one has come forward with "yea my friend Bob who likes to shoot long range with a .223 and study sniper tactics has been acting strange lately. I think you may want to look into it."

I know that was to Ford Fairlane, but I hope you don't mind me throwing in my $.02, too.

I tumbling round does not indicate a malfunctioning firearm, per se. For instance, the shooter might just be using the wrong bullet weight for the amount of barrel twist. Like I mentioned above, the military originally used a 62 grain bullet with a barrel that had a 1:9 twist in their M-16 and derivative rifles. That was changed a few years back to a 55gr bullet with a 1:12 twist. If you mix and match the barrels with ammo they weren't designed for, you'll probably get tumbling, but they work fine with what they're designed for.

It could also just be a poorly design firearm. Since one of the primary rules of judicious firearm use is to know your target and what lies beyond it, if the weapon does not allow the shooter to know the bullet path, I would say that's a malfunctioning arm.

I was surprised at an eyewitness account in the parking lot of Home Depot that helicopters were at the scene within seconds of the shooting. I got to believe the LEOs are close to apprehending the Killer

I so hope you're right about them being close to apprehending the killer. Question is, how many more people will he kill before becoming sloppy enough to be caught?

Regarding speed of response: Fairfax Co. has a very large and competent police force. At least, I think it's large - I see 'em all the time, everywhere I go. I've lived here two years and can probably count on my hands the number of times I've been out without seeing a F'fax Co. police officer or three. So even if there wasn't a big alert on here in the area, it's not at all surprising that Fairfax Co. would be on the scene with amazing speed.

They aren't bright enough to figure out that they should turn off the car?

The police are looking at the drivers. The vehicle color and type does not matter.

Roadblocks will continue indefinitely...
And he says some people have been trapped on the road long enough to run out of gas causing more problems.

Have you heard when they expect a ballistics report to determine if this is related or not?

When the Fairfax Chief took questions, every answer was "I can't answer at this time"

Doesn't sound like it -- but OTOH, it's fairly chilly tonight, lows are supposed to be near freezing.

Maybe the snipers went to a movie, or restaurant, or pool hall or somewhere not too far away. Maybe even a mosque.

No offense but if there was a sniper down here in FL people would be drawing the same sort of connections to Eckert's Pharmacies as they do to Michael's in the DC area.

Why? Because there's an Eckert's on every corner.

A sniper would have to work very hard to find a place to shoot his victims that cannot be associated with an Eckerts' Pharmacy.

The guy probably chooses malls some of the time because there are always vehicles moving around somewhere in the mall lot which would draw the attention of potential witnesses, and the layout of most malls can make it very difficult for witnesses to determine the ultimate direction a getaway vehicle would take. The same goes for gas stations since they are usually on intersections and in really congested areas there are often parallel sideroads along the main drags; with all the potential escape routes and all the people and vehicles, witnesses are going to be quite confused.

If, a some reports indicate, a witness was close enough to the fleeing van to get a partial license plate #, a handgun could have been useful in shooting out its tires and slowing it down.
