So, to all you lily-livered half baked conservatives from across the fruited plane, go find yourselves another ox to GORE,Your entire piece was very well stated but this part I loved the best.
You are 100% correct in your analysis and I, for one, am sick and tired of some Freepers and their negative attitudes or better yet that know that Republicans are going to lose and are unhappy about it. More like they hope Republicans lose so they have something to complain about! The negativity on here is unbelievable -- if they really want Republicans to win, they would shut-up and get out and work for campaigns to help them win instead of whining all the time! Worse yet are the folks that "KNOW" that Jeb is going to lose -- give me a break -- would take a moron to vote for McBride and there are not enough of them in Florida to beat Jeb including the dead ones!
To: lsee
No, it has nothing to do with "lesser of two evils"
McBride is evil; Jeb is not.
No, I can not spend my very valuable time for those that really don't give a damn about my issues, my philosophy, my ideology.
Sure, I'll vote for him but that's it.
Multiply my thought process by many other conservatives who think the same and that is Jeb's problem.
When a politician can not energize his base to work for him, he is not going to win.
I hope I'm wrong but I fear again a small turnout by conservatives & Republicans as well as those conservative Independents.
To: PhiKapMom
This kind of crap will only energize Republicans - we're not going to accept fraud this time around - or the people trying to convince us Jeb is losing when we know better.
To: Seeking the truth
You've been talking him down on every thread... You are just one voter... You do not equal his entire base...
McBride is an idiot... His has two canned responses to every question regardless of the issue: education or leadership... He's out there touting his environment plan and Bush has more specifics about McBride's plan than McBride does...

I justs ent another $50 to Jeb. Hope it helps. I know the RATS will pour more money in if they smell blood. Perhaps this story is being leaked to generate more money for the RATS?
To: Seeking the truth
Sure glad to know which side you are on! You are so wrong about Jeb and yet you go on the Jeb threads with your negative comments.
Suppose you want the liberal team of McBride/Rossin so you can come on here and complain.
That seems to be a mantra of some conservative -- wait for the perfect candidate for them or they will not vote but they still reserve the right to complain.
I have news for you and the rest of the Freepers with that attitude -- you will never get your perfect candidate elected so quit tearing down the candidates we have on the ballot in 2002!
To: PhiKapMom
I wonder who the perfect candidate is to some people...he or she just does not exist. Jeb has been an excellent governor and he will win a second term.
To: Wait4Truth
Good question! Their perfect candidate -- who knows?
To: marajade
You've been talking him down on every threadWell, try to think and understand what I am telling you - if you are capable.
I'm not the only one expressing this opinion about Jeb's "problem" with the conservative base in Florida. I've heard this exact same sentiment from other conservative activists down here in Palm Beach County.
I may be one of the very few that have no qualms saying it on FR. I can endure the slings & arrows. I'm merely trying to give you folks from outside Florida some reasons why the polls are so damn close!
Can't you get it your thick skull that he should be running away with this thing against an idiot, political unknown?
The fact is that isn't is indicative of some underlying problem(s). My theories may be wrong or right. I don't know but I do know spending a ton of campaign money on TV ads during the Democrat Primary to boost a trailing, political novice unknown against Janet Reno, thereby raising his name recognition and profile, was one of the more stupid things he has done.
Where was he during the Elian fiasco? Do you think he gave any Cuban American a reason to vote for him for his lack of leadership or support during the Elian fiasco?
For those conservatives who think Ward Connerly is a great man and the leader in getting rid of Affirmative Action, do you think Jeb telling Connerly to get the hell out of Florida endeared him to his conservative base?
Do you think guaranteeing the top 20% of HS graduates automatic admission into Florida's University is a great leap forward?
Do you think not allowing any offshore drilling in Florida is a great leadership step as our oil supply is threatened yet again?
I drove through 5 counties the other day. Saw lots of McBride signs - hardly any Jeb signs.
Even in Martin County - Pubbie stronghold!
To: Seeking the truth
Just curious and want to see if I remember correctly....... Wasn't it you and Jack Thompson that was so sure that Janet Reno would win the Democrat Primary and then wipe the floor with Gov. Bush? Maybe you weren't involved but I think for sure JT was. Destroy Reno was the mantle even without the Gov. okay.

Well, obviously you can't read.
I'm voting for him but I just can't be a mindless JebBot like you are.
I've got my sign on my lawn - been there for two weeks. As I drive around I don't see any other Jeb signs in front of people's homes - other than the 12 I've given to other people in my precints.
You are apparently incapable of understanding the message but you sure do like to kill the messenger.
BTW, I've stayed off all those silly JebBot threads for all these months. It's been the last few days I've started to post anything about Jeb.
My gut told me a long time ago all this rah rah going to a school everyday is great stuff to run as a Commissioner of Education but is not working for a Governorship.
I really hope to be proven wrong and that Jeb wins big time.
I just don't think it's going to happen as he has never sewed up his base.
To: lsee
I always like to see these stories. It means the Dims are scared and it makes sure that Republicans don't shirk their patriotic duty.

You couldn't be furthest from the facts & the truth.
Did you notice that there was not one Florida Freep of Janet Reno?
That was by design. We stayed out of it because we wanted her to win. We knew Jeb would wipe out Reno but have difficulty against McBride.
Jack Thompson wanted to immediately go after Reno.
As Chapter Leader of Florida, I told him "no way" in those threads and in numerous Freemails.
Our strategy in Florida was correct. Let Reno Win.
Unfortunately, Jeb spend $2,000,000 in the last three weeks of the Demonrat Primary, which elevated McBride and helped, IMHO, put him over the top.
To spend your war chest on a unknown candidate in the oppostion's Primary defies all reason.
To: Seeking the truth
Well I'm a faithful Republican voter and I've never given any money or posted a sign in my yard... What's your point? That because you don't see any signs that indicative of his support? That's crazy.

I like Jebs chances, he's pulled in over 2,000,000 votes in each of the last 2 staewide elections, he was robbed in 1994 but thats getting harder to do.
Theres no reason to think that he will get less total votes than he did in 1998, and Mcbride would have to get 90% of the undecideds to break for him, something that a fat catatonic charmless imbecile is not going to pull off.
