Sean Hannity is breaking news from his affiliate WMAL. The task force investigating the sniper shootings is searching a residence in Baltimore. Apparently, a white van has been impounded, an AR-15 has been found in the residence, and a man is being questioned by the FBI. The FBI is saying that he is "not a suspect."

Work accident. Flustrated, needed medical treatment before he got totally disgrumbled. Came up with the lame story that his girlfriend shot him.

It very well could be. There is so much here, it's so coincidental, I'm sure, if the guy is released, both he and girlfriend will be followed for a while. Like the rest of their lovely little lives.

What's the fascination with the G or the J.I don't detect any "fascination" (on my part anyway), but the word in question is commonly spelled here in the U.S. with a "J" and the reporter reported it as "misspelled". Then some posters here did some research and found the word can be spelled with a "G".
I would say if the reporting on the note is accurate the spelling could be a clue to the guy's awareness or lack thereof regarding spelling, or it could be a clue to his background.
See the diff between "fascination" and relaying information as reporters reveal it?

The .223 is a girly man cartridge, IMHO So often, light makes might. And so does reliability. If you want to snipe from 500 yards, use a .50 cal. But the "multitool" of combat (or plinking, or varmint control), IMO, is a gun like the Ruger Mini-14.

"The .223 is a girly man cartridge, IMHO." Everybody's entitled to an opinion. This "girly man" caliber has killed 8 out of 10 with a single shot, so far.
I have a personal bent toward the M16/AR15, primarily due to it's accuracy.

"Fox News just reported that neither the white van or the truck found elsewhere are related to the shootings."Baby woke up, just saw it on Fox a second ago. I thought it was too good to be true.

He'll never realize what an affect he's had on the English language and what fun we've had with it!
He might be a little "disgrumbled" if he heard us carrying on so. :)
But he's my sister's boss. I should be showing more respect.
Actually, I kinda like him. He grows on ya.

Is there any way he shot himself by accident cleaning one of his semi-auto weapons and blamed the girlfriend? The guy knew he needed an emergency room.
Girlfriend takes the blame because she doesn't want him to kill her and he didn't want to die so he goes to the hospital.
THIS STORY SOUNDS PRETTY LAME to me. They haven't said where he was shot on his person, have they?

Sounds like a post of personal experience. j/k Did they discredit the cargo truck?

Spelling Juhad with a "G" would be very unusual, I agree. And I agree, it culd be an interesting clue...
Just some peculation that just popped in my head: could it be that this dude is the sniper, and was going to drop this tarot card at another kill, to make people think it is ME terrorism? Perhpas he purposely spelled Jihad with an unusual transliteration, to make it seem more "Arabic." why would he do this? For kicks, perhaps, to spread fear.

When I hunted deer in Arkansas I used a .308 and when I hunted in Texas I used a .243. They always ragged me about the .243 being a "girly man" weapon (used those exact words).
In Arkansas the woods are fairly thick and in Texas I had a lot of wide open space. This is what I based my decision on despite the jeers.
A lot of it has to do with what you want to use it for.

Why is that good news?
To: Pyro7480
The FBI does not want to say he is a suspect yet because he is not the suspect. They are obviously grasping for straws in a case like this, and the best thing that can happen is from a concerned citizen that may have seen something. Announcment that a suspect is in custody would make everybody let their guard down, and a lot of the potential tips would dry up.
IMO a lot of people witness crimes everyday and don't want to get involved. The media can be brutal, worse than gang intimidation and threats.

I thought them catching that guy was too good to be true. They have said on Fox that the white truck the guy owned is not related.
