I bought two ounces of Dutch tobacco, 200 filter-tipped cigarette tubes, and a German-made device that injects the tobacco into the tubes. It cost me $23.97 for everything, including tax. The fancy injector device was the most expensive item, at $15.95.

Sorry, bluecollarman, I floated this idea two years ago right here, and didn't even ask for a kickback.

Last time I checked, conservatives were supposed to be against unnecessary taxes.

There is a BIG story behind cigarette taxes, and the control, bans and restrictions placed upon the smokers in each state. It's all about Big Funding coming into the state for all of the above. So, when a state is in the red with their budget, even the Conservative Lawmaker finds himself behind the 8 ball and falls into "the pocket" of the funder of the Big Grants!

But maybe not so great a bargain when you start adding up the other costs. The antibiotics for that chronic upper respiratory infection.

Never had one--will have to assume you're the expert in chronic upper respiratory infections.

The unscheduled physical to see what's wrong. The x-rays. The biopsy. The radiation treatment. The chemo. The wig for when your hair falls out. The new wardrobe for the new, 30-pounds-lighter you. The loss in your job productivity because you're so tired. The gas and time spent seeking alternative treatments.

Do you realize that 75% of cancers occur in nonsmokers? What do you blame for that? Or is it just that all their expenses, pain and suffering don't count because they don't smoke?

The fees for getting your will updated, and your affairs in order. The 24-hour nursing care those last few weeks. The plane tickets so your loved ones can say goodbye. The funeral home costs. The burial plot. The casket. The granite tombstone, engraved with dates that are too close together.

"too close together?" Compared to what? Do you--like other antis--consider those 70,000 85-year-old-plus smokers who die each year "premature deaths"? How about the 140,000 who die after age 75? Premature?

This moron is bragging about how much money he's saving on a habit which will kill him. The ultimate case of being penny-wise and pound-foolish.

Unless you can guarantee that not smoking will keep someone alive--and healthy--forever, you're just blowing smoke. Yes, I smoke and make my own for about $8/carton.

How do you know smoking will kill him? I am a non-smoker. Never have smoked. I cough when I am around any smoke. Never-the-less I have read that about 96% of smokers die of old age and never get cancer. There is danger in driving a car, liquor, meat, and so many other activities too numerous to mention here. Why do you repeat the tired old Leftest lie about tobacco? All they want is the money from tabacco sales to spend on Socialism and Anti-Americanism.

"Three Castles. God, it's good."

A silky smooth Virginia, it's still made by Imperial in Liverpool. The problems are that they stopped importing it to Lawsuit Land years ago, and the price has also shot way up, so it's no longer worth it anyway.

My neighbor has been using one for about three years. Someone needs to develop a motorized or foot pedal model to eliminate the crank.

They said my cigarettes smoked much like a manufactured cigarette but tasted much better, probably because the tobacco I used contained no chemicals or additives.

So those cigarettes are probably much healthier. Hey, maybe this is the real purpose for the tax?

Just saw this. This is great news. Screw those phony government nannies. My dad used to roll his own. I guess I'll get one. Love to smoke. Don't intend to quit.

I never found smoking to help stress. As a matter of fact, smoking made me stressed. So I quit. Times of stress are the best times to quit.

Could easily make the same argument about fatty foods

It is already being made - health fascist jihadists started doing it in Californistan and in other places. (Remember that the most famous health freak, vegetarian and antismoke activist was this German guy with a mustache)

Of course, it helps if you pack each cigarette individually after you roll it....

I think the real reason she has trouble quitting is the weight gain. She has quit several times fairly easily, the weight starts coming on & she starts smoking again to curb the eating. She is single, 30 & very concerned about staying slim. Maybe the little computer thingy will stop the smoking over a longer period of time & not trigger the weight gain. She is starting to have bronchial problems & talks about needing to quit.
