The Moose is loose!
From what I can tell, this is the Rockville Campus of Montgomery College. A community college perhaps? And he has taught before. Let's just hope that he is not teaching how to deal with the media during high-profile criminal/terrorist cases.
Please. His people are furiously working on composite sketches of common *vehicles*! What's going to happen if they spot a white truck? Will he put it in a lineup? Haul it in for interrogation?
This guy makes DC Police Chief Ramsey look like Sherlock Holmes.
I suspect that the point most folks are making... is that Chief Moose may have become a poster child for all that was/is wrong with PC job filling.
A google search will reveal that Montgomery County was being accused by the NAACP as being guilty of black profiling--- none proved. Law suits were threatened. Janet Reno and the Clinton administration were involved in "presenting" Chief Moose as a candidate.
Chief Moose, from flaming leftist Portland - where his record was spotty - became the man...
Chief Moose's two largest police actions I found covered in Google, was his investigation of Tonya Harding - the Ice Skater. And, a drug bust, home invasion prior to a search warrant - that resulted in a female police officer being killed, two officers wounded - and the wounded suspect assaulted and dragged naked into the street.. Hardly, PC or professional behavior from a force he commanded.
Immediately upon arrival in Montgomery -- computers to record the race of every police stop were implemented. Cameras were considered to ensure the Police didn't lie. Diversity Training was instituted.... All the PC crap that has divided us by diversity.
So the Chief has some "baggage" to overcome.
Then the guy goes on camera, speaking at length and doing a poor job at that...
Frankly, came across as a buffoon.
I think it would be more professional to have a police spokesperson spend all that non-productive time with the media - and, if he is indeed a skilled police Chief/Manager - he should manage the investigation.
If or when he has something REALLY big to announce -- he can jump back into the picture and go on camera...
Most folks will make judgements about folks from all that they know of them.... The little we know about Chief Moose, isn't encouraging..
