I should also include this in my statements on Jeema Catta.

I feel that Jimmy Carter is a decent person and he is someone who I consider a good hearted person. BUT..... he is the type of person I would not want raising my children. It's very easy to choose the path of least resistance as a parent, and I believe Jeema Catta chose the path of least resistance while he was the President.

For example: In 1979 we were faced with a hostile takeover of our Embassy in Iran just after President Carter decided not to back the Shah of Iran when he was being over-run by the radical fundementalist in his country. Jeema Catta refused to come to the defense of a loyal friend like the Shah.

When the Iranian so-called students stormed our embassy in Iran, Jeema Catta decided he would not make a stand against the clear and present danger these radicals represented. For 444 days this nation was held hostage by these finatics and Jeema Catta did NOTHING to stop these two bit thugs who could have been destroyed in a matter of hours if Jeema Catta had the cajones to face the challenge.

Hey there,

I've learned from some of your posts over the last couple of nights that you're out in the suburbs. I live in downtown D.C. and even we here feel a bit anxious about all of the sniper business...so I can imagine how unnerving it must be for you all living out where the action is. Take care of yourself and God Bless!

Yes - it is a quick read. Shammon has a delightfully clear writing style. I don't know if that comes naturally to him, or if he has to push it through 73 revisions.

I basically read the entire book the first night I got it. First time in a while I've done that. A precious combination of compelling and liquid clear.

I missed out on Carter's presidency. I had just found computers, and was coding about 80 hours a week, for the better part of a decade, through him and most of Reagan.

... just explaining why I'm not responding much to your Carter dissertations ;).

I live in Mt. Airy MD. (Frederick County) and I doubt the sniper would come out here. This area is not a target rich environment and most everyone up here is armed to the teeth. My Shop on the other hand, is located in the boosem of liberalism. Kensington Md. (just outside of Bethesda/Chevy Chase) and the sniper killed 5 people within 2 miles of my shop. I have been keeping a watchful eye on any suspicious activity in Kensington and I am prepared to protect myself and my neighbors from this cowardly stain they call a "sniper"

Well, Trust me.... You didn't miss much in Jeema Catta. He was a complete an utter failure and his inability to lead this country, compared to Ronald Reagan's leadership abilities is what solidified my loyalty to the conservative movement. Reagan also taught me that winning back this country from the liberals wasn't going to be accomplished over night and to beware of those (.02%rs) who ignored this reality and they would do more to hinder the movement than help it.

You're among friends here. And you've got good reason to be a bit more distracted than normal. Stay safe.
