NEWSFLASH: Another shooting, approx. 9 AM, this time near Fredericksburg

I work in a newsroom in Fredericksburg, and they heard on the police scanner that a person has been shot at a gas station at "Four Mile Fork" which is a neighborhood just south of the City of Fredericksburg.

No details yet, but I wanted to let y'all know -- and keep up the tradition of FReepers getting news first.

Pray for the victim, and pray that this is a random shooting, and that this monster's terror has not widened yet again.

The first murder was across the street from a Montgomery County police station and a fire house. The police ran across Randolph Rd to the parking where he was shot, I read.

If this murderer knows the areas he is shooting in then he is truly brazen and my bet is he will try to take as many cops with him as possible.

We need to be praying for the safety of the officers that will have to confront this demonic animal.

Just occurred to me. Suppose the shooter sets up and waits for a "rabbit" in the form of a white van to arrive. As the driver of the van gets ready to leave, the shooter pulls the trigger...

It appears that only the VA police have been taping off crime scenes beyond the range of a .223 and that previously (in MD) only the area near the victim has been designated as a crime scene.

At this point, this investigation should be under the direction of the FBI, IMO....

Question to gun experts
The anti-gun nuts are going to claim that mandatory ballistics records could have prevented these shootings. How easy is it to change the barrel on weapons like this thereby rendering ballistics records moot?
