I work in a newsroom in Fredericksburg, and they heard on the police scanner that a person has been shot at a gas station at "Four Mile Fork" which is a neighborhood just south of the City of Fredericksburg.
No details yet, but I wanted to let y'all know -- and keep up the tradition of FReepers getting news first.
Pray for the victim, and pray that this is a random shooting, and that this monster's terror has not widened yet again.

Islamists are targeting oil companies. May have Indonesian/Maylasian or Egyptian connection, since I think that's where Exxon/Mobile is now. Actually, they're headquartered in Texas. Where do you get this stuff?

MSNBC showing police? shooters with black hoods (balaclavas) on. It's not very cold today. What's that about.

Yes. The AR-15 and M-16 both use the .223. I used to own an AR-15 and it is an amazing rifle. You can hardly miss. I had a friend who had literally never touched any type of firearm in his life. Within 15 minutes he was picking off beer cans at about 100 yards.
One need not be any kind of marksman to accurately fire an AR-15.

I'd checked NBC's FeedRoom a couple of times earlier this a.m. I believe it's just a clip, not live coverage.

Im wondering if they arent on a wild goose chase. All of the newscasts I have seen are lamenting the fact that white vans are so common. Could it be that the sniper (assuming that this is one man going solo) is in another type of vehicle altogether and was from the start? Could the initial eyewitness report of 2 men in a white van leaving in a hurry from the other scene just be two repairmen late for a house call? I am beginning to think that the perp isnt in a white van at all and never was, and this may have fueled his desire to tell the cops how much smarter he was with his little tarot card stunt.
When you really think about it, the cops may have nothing at all, only a red herring of a white van...JFK

There was a question before that: "Is there a final word on this?"
And of course, the answer is no.

"Sources with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and firearms told News4 it is likely a Colt AR15, much like this M-16, or a Ruger Mini 14. Does anyone know if these all use the same ammo? " Yes -- Alchohol, Tax, Firearms, and News4 all use the same ammo.

"Total Acess is a package with Direct TV."
And these guys travel around all day. The Cable Guy?
(Actually the Satellite Guy).
Makes sense to me. I figured he wasn't missed at work because he was out all day.
