NEWSFLASH: Another shooting, approx. 9 AM, this time near Fredericksburg

I work in a newsroom in Fredericksburg, and they heard on the police scanner that a person has been shot at a gas station at "Four Mile Fork" which is a neighborhood just south of the City of Fredericksburg.

No details yet, but I wanted to let y'all know -- and keep up the tradition of FReepers getting news first.

Pray for the victim, and pray that this is a random shooting, and that this monster's terror has not widened yet again.

That would be kinda hard to do because the unabomber was in a different area of the country but who knows. I doubt it. The Zodiac killer loved to play games with the NY City police. I remember being scared to death at that time. But I was also scared to death when David Berkowitz (Son of Sam) was on the loose. And he used to send all kinds of wierd letters to the cops and media. These people are so sick.

WTOP finally reporting that the victim has died. They're still reporting "TOTAL RECALL" or "TOTAL ACCESS," but they might well be behind the curve on that too.

My guess (and I know everyone is waiting for it too) is that it's someone who works 3rd shift, probably employed at a gas station. The perp could stop off on the way home from work and off someone, and spend the night hearing customers fret about it. Just my tinfoil opinion.

Wouldn't fight back without a plan and without backup. You must watch too many movies. He did know someone like you though who was careless and approached a known gunman in the woods. He was shot in the head. He didn't follow protocol.
