NEWSFLASH: Another shooting, approx. 9 AM, this time near Fredericksburg

I work in a newsroom in Fredericksburg, and they heard on the police scanner that a person has been shot at a gas station at "Four Mile Fork" which is a neighborhood just south of the City of Fredericksburg.

No details yet, but I wanted to let y'all know -- and keep up the tradition of FReepers getting news first.

Pray for the victim, and pray that this is a random shooting, and that this monster's terror has not widened yet again.

Stafford Co. has now joined Spotsylvania Co. in having its schools in lockdown. I wonder if the authorities know more than they're telling us about a threat to schools.

It has been a number of years now, but when I used to knock around that area, I used RT. 1 more than I95. Usually free flowing and not likely to stop like I95.

When I was a kid, all our field trips were to DC (Smithsonian, etc.). It was a rich experience for a kid. But if I still lived there I would have a very hard time letting my kids go on field trips to DC without worrying..alot.

Governor Warner of VA announced the man shot just a while ago at EXXON, has expired.
