I work in a newsroom in Fredericksburg, and they heard on the police scanner that a person has been shot at a gas station at "Four Mile Fork" which is a neighborhood just south of the City of Fredericksburg.
No details yet, but I wanted to let y'all know -- and keep up the tradition of FReepers getting news first.
Pray for the victim, and pray that this is a random shooting, and that this monster's terror has not widened yet again.

Pictures on CNN just showed cops flagging white vans with ladders attached forward and back into traffic.
It also appeared that one police car had someone in the back seat.
Anyone else see that?

The "shadow government officials" are doing this so that they can gain public support for gun confiscation?
Take my head of the sand? Okay, only if you'll take your head out of your a-s.

Man on lawnmower, folks filling gas tanks ...
Somehow the internal combustion engine fits into this scenario. Time to read "Earth in the Balance" ...

Manassas is north-west of I95 where I95 passes through Woodbridge, and it's about 10 miles from where I live in Manassas to I95 via 234/Joplin Rd or the PW Parkway.

God bless him, he was right on the front lines. Silent prayers for his wife, who called the police on her cellphone.
We need a new 'penalty' for killers who like to shoot innocent civilians at random. I'm thinking summary, public execution . . .

You here? What's your take on this?

"This is just a theory but I think this guy did this on his way to work. It happened at 9:00. He is probably at work right now laughing his head off. This seems like a work vehicle with writing on the side. He probably works in the area and was able to escape very quickly. I think the police should check all businesses that use white astro vans. I think this psycho is long gone by now."
I was thinking the exact same thing. Many service companies have a fleet of vans, they don't look suspicious because everyone is used to seeing them...perfect decoy.

On the local station, channel 4, they are asking people to call in tips..One of the reasons to call in is if you know anyone who owns a gun CASE...sheesh..

It also makes the person very a vulnerable target escpecially while holding the pump and even if walking to/from store his direction is predictible. The shooters do seem to favor gas stations. There could be a lot of reasons for that. They also favor stationary targets out in the open - sitting, standing, etc.
One thing you might try while filling your gas tank is setting the clamp on the nozzle (so you don't have to stand there outside your car holding it) and either then walking around or getting back in the car and shutting the door. Targets have been out in the open, near a street, relatively stationary, and sometimes occupied with a task (don't wash your windows or check your oil - do that at home; also, be careful about waiting on the street for a bus or ride; try to stay with a moving crowd since the shooters seem to be looking for isolated targets).
Your car isn't bulletproof but the shooters seem to be looking for sure kills and no one enclosed in a vehicle has been shot yet (maybe there's a problem with .223 ballistics going through glass or metal). Fortunately in this case the victim was reported to still be alive and was taken to the hospital.

Hopefully they have the side-roads covered, too. Sooner or later he has to hit a highway to get anywhere.

I agree with you about the Brady's and I have no doubt that the the hard core socialist's in this country in this country are capable of pulling off such a ploy as these random snipings.
The banning of scoped weapons in the USA will be the death toll of the Republic.
