I work in a newsroom in Fredericksburg, and they heard on the police scanner that a person has been shot at a gas station at "Four Mile Fork" which is a neighborhood just south of the City of Fredericksburg.
No details yet, but I wanted to let y'all know -- and keep up the tradition of FReepers getting news first.
Pray for the victim, and pray that this is a random shooting, and that this monster's terror has not widened yet again.

I rather doubt we have satellites aimed at gas stations in Virginis.

I would think if *he* is on '95 or nearby he'd abandon the truck. This is just a theory but I think this guy did this on his way to work. It happened at 9:00. He is probably at work right now laughing his head off. This seems like a work vehicle with writing on the side. He probably works in the area and was able to escape very quickly. I think the police should check all businesses that use white astro vans. I think this psycho is long gone by now.

thought 'non-white' perp was gen'l consensus I have not heard a description today. I was replying to
Shoot any white male in a white truck or van.
Raise taxes and confiscate all weapons.
Elect only females to public office and give a sample of your DNA.
Don't worry, the police are on-the-job.

Actually there have been 11 shootings, the 1st was at a Michaels and didn't hit anybody, so it has been left out of most of those graphics.

I have the feeling that the man is in construction or utility work. This is the reason he doesn't strike at night..he is doing it on his work schedule. So I think the vehicle isn't HIS...so his neighbors wouldn't know who it was.

google search on VA companies "total recall total access"
Omnicron Electronics (Putnam, CT - 860-928-0377) markets Total Recall, a compact and self-contained voice logger providing secure recording, storage, and playback of telephone calls. Total Recall was designed and developed in Australia (but don't let that scare you off - we couldn't resist, Harry) to meet a market demand for a lower-cost, fully integrated recorder for smaller-capacity requirements. Total Recall does not compete with the usually more expensive multichannel loggers, nor is it PC based.

Re:
"How would you like to be the guy stuck in a traffic backup in your car directly behind the van carrying the sniper?" I'de LOVE to have that chance. I'de keep the cops on the phone while feeding them every snippet of info I could about the van.
To: Doc Savage
It is a distinct possibility that there is no "white van" associated with these murders. Since the description of a white van has been choking the media airwaves for days, and the perp(s) obviously are aware that a white van would draw immediate suspicion at or bear the crime scene, and that such a vehicle would never get through a roadblock, it suggests that only severely brain deficient criminals wouldn't consider switching vehicles or stealing a new vehicle for each new murder attempt. Why is the "white van" always a different make and model -- at least in the TV accounts? Couldn't it be different?

Trying to apply your logic or my logic to a psycho who kills innocent people just won't work. Who knows how they'll act.
To: varon
driven by an obese person ;-) Sir, SUV's don't need drivers. They just drive themselves. Have you not seen the headlines in the liberal rags.
To: RedBloodedAmerican
How would you like to be the guy stuck in a traffic backup in your car directly behind the van carrying the sniper?? I would get out of my car and start crawling away. But most people would just sit there. I was once evacuated out of an office building because of a bank robbery accross the street. Most people evacuated remained in the area and were actually still in the line of fire from the bank. I took a long walk away until it was over.

If the shooter is not in a white van, he no doubt got away....
