NEWSFLASH: Another shooting, approx. 9 AM, this time near Fredericksburg

I work in a newsroom in Fredericksburg, and they heard on the police scanner that a person has been shot at a gas station at "Four Mile Fork" which is a neighborhood just south of the City of Fredericksburg.

No details yet, but I wanted to let y'all know -- and keep up the tradition of FReepers getting news first.

Pray for the victim, and pray that this is a random shooting, and that this monster's terror has not widened yet again.

My sister just called from Rockville crying to tell me about the shooting and let me know they are all OK. She works part time (just heading into work) at Mont. Co. PD.
I told here to sign up here if she needs to find things out when she's not here. Think she might need people to talk to beside. Nerves there (and here) are so frayed.

I would have thought that many of these gas stations would have security cameras trained on the pumps as well as in the stores. It seems that the perp should be recorded on film somewhere, but maybe I'm off base.

The problem with this is that the perp is a sniper -- he shoots from a long way away from the gas station.

So, the gas station's security camera would only catch the victime being killed, while the perp (who could be as far away as a mile) would not appear on camera.

How many times have we seen nuts call in with "info". It happened to Fox last week after one of the shootings. They had some lady on the phone live who was supposed to be somebody official and she starts talking about Howard Stern. It is hard to trust any info right now.

I noticed that earlier in one of the threads where they posted aerial shots of the malls. Tons of white vehicles and trucks! That's why they don't need to change vehicles. Because there ARE so many!
