NEWSFLASH: Another shooting, approx. 9 AM, this time near Fredericksburg

I work in a newsroom in Fredericksburg, and they heard on the police scanner that a person has been shot at a gas station at "Four Mile Fork" which is a neighborhood just south of the City of Fredericksburg.

No details yet, but I wanted to let y'all know -- and keep up the tradition of FReepers getting news first.

Pray for the victim, and pray that this is a random shooting, and that this monster's terror has not widened yet again.

Hi Julie, just read the article you posted that mentioned last victim (2 nights ago) was commuting from work. I mentioned this to someone on a thread that night. Person on thread thought Mr. Myers might have been a specific target because he was far from home but my dad used to do the Rocville to Manassas work trip. Not uncommon. Lots of people who live in MD or VA work in next state over.

Endless possibilities good and bad FT......The key is that folks like you are watching , looking and remembering such. I have always carried a 1911A1 but have now added a small digital camera and binoculars to "record" such weird and suspisious activity when observed. If they don't like me taking their picture or watching them then the 1911A1 is always an option depending on how angry they get, and my ability to back off to a safe distance :o)

My thought at it being an elementary and no one shot, that it was fireworks, as the time of day, high schoolers would be out of school, probably walking home from the bus stop, at the time the "shots" were heard. We con aonly hope. I don't think the sniper would just go fire wild shots toward a school.

Meade actually makes a pair of binoculars that has a digital camera in them. I have seperate camera and binoculars but also own the meade version (available at Radio Shack)......do ya want a link ?
