My Dad lives in Charlottesville. He frequently rents cars to travel to DC and back for DoE meetings. I can't reach him and I am worried.

I'll try, Molly Pitcher. The list is currently in my Freepmail and I can't revise it from there. Will try moving it and revise it then. (Can you tell I'm new to this ping stuff?)

Cynderbean - the car didn't look like a typical rental car, but I imagine you can call the local police in Manassas (sp?) and ask them to check the plate - rental cars generally have special plates. We will keep a good thought for you and your dad. If you get a chance later, please let us know when you hear he is okay. Regards

THAT's why Moose acted angry...like it was an accident that it got it out. I haven't read the thread yet and I'm likely repeating others' thoughts.
Hope they show it just so ALL can see the handwriting. Someone just might recognize it..parent, relative, friend.

I thought about it last night. It seams that he is zeroing his weapon on the pumps because he knows the victim will be standing there openly for a few minutes. Real easy shot, spider to the fly type thinking.
I would bet a stack of bills that if the station has surveilance cameras on the pumps you could rewind for a while and see some jerk scanning the tree line from the same exact pump as the victim.

Competition between two shooters?? Don't think they would be using same weapon...Each would use their favorite weapon.

PICTURE OF MAN BELIEVED TO BE LAST NIGHT'S VICTIM...Check out post #352 on thread entitled
BREAKING: One more shooting in DC area.
Sorry that I don't know how to make the connection for you...remembered from last night that there was a picture of the victim.
God be with you and your Dad...please let us know when you find out anything...

What about two sleeper cells, each with two guys, and one decides to leave calling card to identify which hit is his? Two guys seen fleeing last night's shooting - hard to envision two homegrown nuts working together like this, but know I'm stretching.

Peach...first of all, thanks for all your great reporting and comments...
One thing that I haven't seen considered but keeps bugging me...there could be more than 2 people in the vehicle at any given time. Whether a truck or a van, there could be others hidden in the back...thoughts?

In that pic, there is another man approaching victim. Patches on shirt of man approaching victim looks like cop or gas station attendant, although when was the last time we saw a gas station attendant outside helping customers?
