Looks like they're basically challenging them (I think they're 2) to be at the Redskins game this weekend. Very dangerous. Maybe they figure a relatively enclosed space is their best chance to catch them. But if they come, someone will get killed. Maybe they'll even have a suicide shooting spree. Yuk! Better not let my imagination run away with me...

Redskins game....if he strikes there, it would have to be in the parking lot! And of course they won't cancel THAT, as there are too many BUCKS to be lost.
I am positive there is only one sniper here, and he is NO kid...

I am positive there is only one sniper here, and he is NO kid... Your theory is just as good/bad as mine. We're all just wildly speculating to release the tension this horrible case is causing (at least in my case). Let's hope we'll find out VERY soon and I don't care if I'm wrong! He/they CAN'T be allowed to go underground...

I think the possibility that the sniper has some familiarity with the Michael's Crafts stores is worth considering. I had thought it was a very small chain, but it has a website that shows hundreds of outlets nationwide ... and about 30 within 50 miles of Washington, DC. The website even offers maps of the immediate neighborhood of each store.
We know at least 3 of the shootings took place within a block of a Michael's store, and I wonder if checking on the precise location of the other shootings would be informative.
I would suppose that this sniper (presumably male) does not want to be caught but does want to be notorious, even under a nickname. His persistance in using the same weapon, although very risky if he's caught, is a method of proving that one person alone is doing all this damage. The fact that his shooting is generally so accurate suggests the possibility of considerable rifle experience, possibly in the military or at a military school.

FYI - The white van info was passed to a recently retired FBI agent who was very intrigued by it, and who knows the correct channels to use. Even if it does not apply to the current situation in MD (including this mornings atrocity), it may be of value.

...but moving around so easily and carefree, not even been seen one is nine outings." Dressed as a security guard perhaps. Blending in to the scenery after the crime.
