Rifle shot. Did Moose say that? If so, I guess that's the end of the shotgun story.

Good old fashioned policework is what will get them...like looking at all the unpaid parking tickets in areas of S of S shootings which was how they got him. Maybe, but what if the shooters are from several states away?
To: Peach
I don't know why they wouldn't put up a high altitude reconnaissance aircraft with high resolution, wide angle camera's and have this aircraft orbit the area for several days, then when the next shooting occurs, look at the high resolutions images.
I would be surprised if they are not already doing this.

Thanks, aristeides.

Only one firearm is being used so there aren't two team competing unless you're claiming that there are two teams with the same firearm.
To: aristeides
Rifle shot. Did Moose say that?Chief Moose has said very little. He did not say rifle.

LOL. We were both obviously born in the days prior to "zero tolerance" where handing a girlfriend a Midol is a suspense sentence!

You said DEAD didn't matter it was just a game. If dead doesn't matter and its just for fun, then why kill any?
To: ET(end tyranny)
That's ok, there are no parking meters near the Manassas gas station.

Actually, YOU HAVE A DARNED GOOD IDEA!!
Outside of everyone wearing flak jackets in the DC metropolitan area, anyone who has a video camera should have it fully charged and with them and at the ready when/if they go outside. If there were any witnesses to a shooting w/cameras, they could get immediate initial video of fleeing vehicles from the scene, or whatever. If there was a shooting announced on the radio and somebody in traffic nearby noticed a vehicle speeding away or matching the description and acting odd, they could video as well. This will at least proactively involve the people in the area and give them something to do so they don't worry to death and they can feel they are a part of the solution. We could catch the bastard(s) yet by this kind of cooperation, FBI Most Wanted-show-style.
(Of course, in an area like DC and environs, most common street thugs would be tickled at the prospect of being able to rip off videocameras from vehicles!)

The trajectory MIGHT point to where the hit was made from except I don't think anyone knows EXACTLY how the kid was positioned when he was hit. Either someone had good instincts and checked out the greenspace or we have some witnesses who had a good idea on where the shot came from...or who knows??

Well, we do know for sure that the Virginia killing last night was a) from a rifle, and b) was with one shot and c) was not close range but was a difficult head shot. I think Freepers can add. They won't just come out and say it because they don't want any more panic. The neighborhood where this happened is not a high crime area, there was no robbery attempt and the shooters were far enough away that they made another clean get-a-way. When the authorities finally do admit that it's connected I wonder what their course of action will be.

Mike Buchanan known to be close to PG cops. Isn't he the son of the retired PG policeman? I've thought that his murder could be other than random. Maybe. Worth looking into.
Bingo! Relative. And yeah, its something. You're the one I was looking for last night on a couple of thread! *smile*
Another piece just fell into place.

Well, do I feel like a dummy. Shows you what I know about bullets and guns, etc. Guess I thought they could tell what kind of gun the bullets were from, but not the exact gun and that a paramilitary group or whoever is doing this might all have the same kind of gun. Good point though and blows my theory out of the water. Any ideas why the shooter would leave the tarot card and then ask police in a separate handwritten note not to release information about the tarot card to the public?

They think there were hidden coded messages in the audio tapes Bin Ladena and Al-Zawaheri released the other day...
Note the French oiler tanker explosion....the Marines being attacked...a bombing today in the Philippines..

I'm not even 100% sure the killer(s) even left the casing and card behind. Seems weird doesn't it. Maybe the kid one was a copy-cat? Who knows....
To: GOPJ
A handwritten note - that could prove interesting when police have a suspect. Very curious - I wonder why the shooter would leave a signature item like the tarot card and then ask police NOT to use it? See post 263

Precisely. And what will be the response from Americans across the land when/if they apprehend these guys and it is announced they are
Allahu Ahkbar?
My predictions: There won't be a safe mosque in the Republic and further, there will be an incredible spike in gun sales for self defense, just as we saw in late September, October and November of last year. Sarah Brady and Morris Dees are going to have their work cut out for them.
